    100x100 sprints

This sounds ok and probably a little bit easier than what I've been doing so far. Ive been sprinting and averaging around about 15 seconds and only have about 30 seconds rest. I'm doing them in 45 secs.

    Pre season 2013 - Training

I remember seeing Will Hoskin-Elliot mucking around with a footy doing similar things at my sons jr cricket (his younger brother was playing). He was amazing. Cleanest hands I have ever seen. I wasn't surprised he was drafted Top 5 about a fortnight later.

He was put in charge of handballing duties to players running towards him in an early drill. He was sort of like a witches hat that fired out handballs. The handballs must have been quality because when MM called the players in for chat, after the drill Juddy "high-fived" him on the way past...

    Remember the Club (Hammerheads)?

I assume that is Daryl Quon. Turned up to play in a seconds game at Nth Sunshine pissed. Greg Miller told him to go home. His misses then proceeded to abuse Miller. She was pushing a pram and puffing on a ciggie with snivering Daryl in tow. When Quonny played in the seniors at the start of the...

    Remember the Club (Hammerheads)?

The Cup got broken in celebrations on the Sunday, not deliberately but just one of those things that happen. In the end it didn't really matter because didn't have a home anyway. Debbie Lee was a star in womens footy and says it would have been interesting to see how she went playing against...

    100x100 sprints

In the 1980's when Robert Walls was in charge of the Blues he introduced the notorious 100x100 sprints as part of pre-season training. I remember going down to training as a teenager and watching the players complete this usually on the day before they broke up for their Xmas break. I vividly...

    Remember the Club (Hammerheads)?

Podge was one of the blokes brought into the show about a month into the season. He shared a house with Western Australians Jayco, Swanny and Chubb in Carlton. He was featured in a episode when he moved into their house. 7 made it out that he was moving into the small shed out the back of the...

    Remember the Club (Hammerheads)?

I may have mate but part of the appeal of Bigfooty is to keep your real identity secret. The old rooms at JJ Holland Park which were renovated pretty nicely for the show have recently been demolished. I dont think any football teams other than maybe for jr footy use the ground but is...

    Remember the Club (Hammerheads)?

Rene Kink, Rhys-Jones, Danny Southern and Luke Ball's mum were the 4 coaching candidates for the club. Keka and Phil Cleary were the 2 candidates for the presidents role. About 2500 turned up to the auditions at Etihad Stadium on a stinking hot weekend in Feb 200. On the Saturday 2500 hopefuls...

    Pre season 2013 - Training

I noticed Simon White being used as a forward option in the training drills yesterday. Its really difficult to see how this will work if it happens but White is super competitive and is quick and takes a nice mark.

    Pre season 2013 - Training

I really liked the way training was set up yesterday. There appeared unlike sometimes when I saw training last year to be a real purpose to what they were doing. MM to me loved every minute of it and it was a rather long session. He was involved in absolute everything and he was constanly...

    Pre season 2013 - Training

Marcus Davies was definitley there mate. It took me a while to work out one of the players wearing a cap and once he reached the Social Club end realised it was Davies. Garlett was really good as you mentioned and Robbo to me is becoming the heart and soul of that footy club. I remember in his...

    GDFL Season 2012

No one should be forced to play interleague if they don't want to. You will probably find that the players who made themselves unavailable are blokes who have represented the league in the past and found the whole experience rather unrewarding. If representing the league such a big deal and...

    A weird feeling

I know alot of carlton people will be hurting like crazy tonight. The thought of rocking up to work or school or the dole office tomorrow leaves a sick feeling in the gut. I don't know if anyone else is feeling this way but I've actually become immune to failure and disappointment. It's a...

    Preview Rd7 Carlton v St.Kilda Monday 14th May 7.40pm @ Etihad - Final Team - post #282

Re: Rd. 7 St.Kilda v Carlton Monday 14th. May 7.40pm @ Etihad Thought Ellard did a reasonable job on Ward. Armfield's pace is down since he hurt his knee against the Pies. We really need to see him do some damage on the burst, not just negate a player. Lucas is the worry for me. So bloody soft...

Whats this plus one and press jargon?

In my day when i was running amok in junior football my coach use to put a loose player in defence when we were kicking against the breeze and told us to build a wall when the opposition was kicking out from full-back. That was 30 years ago. I reckon he could coach Melbourne.

    GDFL Season 2012

Certainly would have. Couldn't quite believe the margin when I was told on the Sunday. I wouldn't write the Centurions off just yet. According to one of their key players this is the apparently the best team Werribee have assembled ever. That's a pretty big wrap so it will be interesting to...

Obviously a reason why the saints have failed to go all the way. Have you actually got a team mascot?

As a Carlton Fan, I'm just putting it out there!!

Has 'Captain Carlton' become the best team mascot in the competition? Ridiculed when he first arrived onto the scene in the early 2000's this Superhero turned fanatical Carlton icon has surpassed all other mascots. Before the Rd 1 Richmond game there was a kicking for goal competition...

    Cameron Ling- field commentator

I 'll take you task on Robbo buddy. He may have been lucky to play in 3 flags but he was a fine commentator. A little biased towards the Blues but he had the gift of the gab.

    Cameron Ling- field commentator

I get it. You're angry because people are criticising Cameron Ling the commentator, not the footballer. You follow Geelong and you feel the need to back your man even though deep down you also realise he isn't much chop behind the camera. Don't worry mate your love for him will diminish if he...

At least David King has a decent grasp of the English language unlike Ling who not only fumbles and mumbles over every word but has the personality of a half eaten dims sim. Don't be so precious w***er.

    AFL 360 is a wank

What a terrible show. Gerard Wheatley is quite possibly the most pretentious geek going around. The opening of the show when he says "I'm Gerard Wheatley" and then points to the slob on his left and says "and he's Mark Robinson" is the most cringe worthy repetitive line on telly.

    GDFL Season 2012

This is a pretty narrow minded comment. Does it really matter what type of bloke he is? Not every guy you play footy with is going to be a ripping fella but if he can function in a team environment then that is all that matters. The fact that Moreland has been a major contributor in back to back...

What was the name of that ruckman we got from Brisbane??

thanks mate. Had a massive noggin on him. Saw him at the Kings of Leon concert last night and recognised him instantly and his name escaped me. Also saw Wade Twomey and Joe dare there as well. They have obviously struck up a close friendship since being givin the arse...

About 7/8 years back we got a ruckman from the Lions. He was horendous. I think he wore Number 27. I could be wrong though.....??
