In the first 2 minutes or so, watch Jagga win the ball easily while fellow top ten prospect Josh Smillie stands back and watches him do it and basically does nothing. Multiple times. Jagga is the man. His ball winning ability is unlike any I have seen.
That's noticeable at ground level. I've been to the last 2 Vic games. As soon as we get it the spread is on and you can see players running into position ahead of the ball. Including our forwards. That's been the main reason for our high scoring this year.
Slow start but we're really only in 2nd gear at the moment.
Forward line looks dangerous and the breeze is picking up here. We'll have it this quarter.
As far as I'm concerned the draft is in tiers. As follows:
1-6 (any order)
Smith
Ashcroft
Lalor
Draper
O'Sullivan
Langford
7-15
Tauru
Lombard
Kako
Smillie
Reid
Armstrong
Allan
Trainor
Berry
Outside of those 15 are not our concern. Even if we trade it's unlikely to be for a late 1st round...
A lot of players deserve credit for the season and the win yesterday. But I have to pay tribute to our very own power forward Tahlia Randall. What a presence she is. Ball in dispute, she bumps first, often keeps her feet and almost always recovers better and wins it. Great contested mark as...
They've thrown punches at us but we've stood up and replied in kind. Have to go on with it. This is finals footy we're playing here.
Jaz has been enormous. So have Mia and Ash. Alice has had a good game too. Lots to like.
Sorry but that's not fair on us.
Our F1 is likely to be in the 2-6 range, so this is pick 2 plus pick 4'ish, for a bunch of lesser picks that don't nearly compensate us fairly. Pass.
Keep pick 2 please.
Agree. If Richmond wants 2 they pay overs. F*** the points system. It's pick 2 in what is possibly a super draft. 6 &10 or at worst 6&11 or it's nothing and we take Smith or Draper.
I'd rather 2 anyway, but there's NO way they get 2 off us for 6 and 18.
No. Way.
Really like Draper as well. Similar qualities. For me it's those two. O'Sullivan is high quality too but there's injury doubts about him. Smith or Draper and I'm happy.
Can we please, please, PLEASE draft this kid? No more talking of splitting the pick or doing any fancy deals. There is a series of brilliant highlights in this clip and I urge you to watch the whole thing, but if nothing else, skip to 3:53 and watch the following 10 seconds. Tell me then that...
FTFY. This is what I want to see. I've seen all the top 10 and for me it's obvious. Remember the numbers that Sheezel was putting up in his final year before being drafted? Jagga has done the same and is super consistent, as Sheezel was, and then has been as an AFL player. I feel like we need...
I had to edit it multiple times.
2 won't translate into 6 & 10 or 6 & 11. 2 for 6 & 20 is roughly the same amount of points. If we want 6 and 10 or 11 we'd have to give up more. I was looking purely at a direct value comparison.
Many of you want to split pick two. In an even draft I can see why. However, for your consideration, in the last seven drafts, this is what we'd have if we split 2 for 6 & 20, for example, which is roughly the same amount of points:
Year
Pick 2
Pick 6
Pick 20ish (after f/s, academy picks)...
