It’s laughable that he thought he was entitled to more from the club considering how long he’s been employed, how little he has achieved, and how much he’s leached off the place. Should have been too ashamed to show his face, but he’s clearly a moron so he went back for more.
Also a window...
It can go either way. I can see it go the other way too, and the place settles down with one less dissenting voice.
Oliver will almost certainly be better, petracca is a professional so I think he’ll be back to something near his best. Let’s hope they fall into a heap though!
I think my frustration is we are half-pregnant as always. Pretty much impossible to get elite talent that way. Let’s hope and pray that Melbourne break some mirrors, run over black cats and walk under a ladder or two. And stir their tea with a knife.
So, why does he struggle so much?
Looking at his VFL numbers, they’re pretty underwhelming. For pick 4 you’d expect to dominate the level below somewhat. Looks like he struggles to even get involved. We just delisted Sam Weidman and he managed to get a fair bit of it in the backline. Wouldn’t...
I’d consider playing him at half back in the VFL to force him to kick more. It may speed up his development, and build confidence in his kicking. The VFL is for development after all.
Playing midfield he can handball more and avoid fixing the problem IMO.
Fair point. I’d be putting the acid on him to get his value up and move him on, but is it really worth wasting time to do that? It would probably take him from a second to a late FRP.
I’d like to see Hobbs and tsatas play AFL and parish in the VFL at times. Make him earn it and get the hunger...
I heard an interview with an Olympic weightlifting coach mentioning he gets his athletes to lift at 70% capacity rather 90% or so because going for the max commonly results in injuries, and training consistently gives you better outcomes.
So, I genuinely think it might be an option to get Zach...
Rookie downgrade I’d guess. Doesn’t seem to have a burning desire to improve. I feel like clubs tiptoe around harsh feedback, but then the axe fall and the player feels blindsided.
Hopefully he knows where he’s at and knows he needs to improve drastically.
I can’t even remember him playing on-ball this year (in the ones). Needs at least 30% pure midfield time when he plays AFL. Perhaps second half of each quarter?
If we plan on trading him, we need to play him to get his value up, and if we plan on keeping him, we need to plan him to let him...
Not trying to be rude, but that is the worst 8 year plan I’ve ever heard. What sort of organisation does nothing for 2 years to start, then try and fix the shit players. As if you can’t try that from the beginning.
How about get some picks in better than tsatas at 6 who can’t kick?
We have no...
Seems like finally the delusion has simmered down. Again, probably a year or two too late, but better than never. I wonder if they plan on letting the captain leave to some success next year. Would get nice picks and we effectively are starting another rebuild it seems.
I think it’s better to...
I genuinely see parish’s career at the crossroads. He seems to have a bit of FIGJAM about him, whether it’s true or not. It results in him thinking that he doesn’t needing to do extra stuff like tackling and harassing to be useful to the team, which is delusional.
He really needs to be getting...
One of Hobbs’ biggest problems is that he compounds being physically slow with being mentally slow. It’s unlikely he will get any faster (nigh impossible), so he needs to make faster decisions. My bugbear is when he gets the ball and instead of moving it quickly he craps himself and turtles the...
This is my ideal scenario- finish low, get a FRP for Draper, find out about the list. Should have done it by now, but we are edging that direction. If we play it right it’ll give us a talent boost.
There were some “optimistic” appraisals of his value floating around. More like delusional. If it ends up mid 3rd round then that’s about right. I’m just glad to turn the page, get youth in, and finally set some standards. Probably 2 years too late, but anyway…
Thank god for some sanity. Would have been an unnecessary waste. I’d have him in the starting midfield, unless they want to squeeze in Hobbs or tsatas. Should be able to do both
Agree. They’ve had a few opportunities to get top end elite talent and chose middling talent outside of Reid.
Maybe due to retention, but thinking it’s not a huge downgrade is optimistic at best.
He didn’t fail the medical, but he didn’t pass either.
If you read the medical results with your eyes closed, was the medical ever real?
If a medical falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
Ahem, carry on…
Respectfully, pick 28 and 4 junk picks would be utterly terrible value without the future first. Melbourne adding a FF balanced it well. Could go either way next year, maybe tip in favour of one club or another depending on where Melbourne finish.
Nah. Saints would have bid strategically with one of their 3rd first rnd picks, at basically no risk to them. Clubs routinely bid on players they have no intention of taking.
This. We’ve fluffed ourselves epically, essentially lost all leverage. If north had genuine interest that would have been huge for us. Now it’ll be a middling pick and some points.
The thing that annoys me the most is we will get points for stringer and Shiel, maybe even others - why not see...
