Essendon gain the points needed to match a Kako bid and also gain an extra first rounder next season when they inevitably try and lure Harley to the club. A good trade for them.

Plus with the ability to trade two years into the future we can put another pick in 2027 forward to add to the deal when Kobe Bewick is set to come through (who basically wins all the awards in junior footy)

Happy with this deal. Get Kako anyway - pick 9 is reportedly a fair pick for him - so we’re giving up a couple of second rounders to get a first rounder next year.
On this year’s results that would be Pick 5 - Dees can rise or fall.

Essendon now have two valuable second rounders, 28 + 31, they won't need for points. Assuming they trade them for future picks and not a player, they will be completely loaded for next year. Or be able to trade back in after the bid is matched.

Such an interesting trade. If Melbourne don't do well next year the Bombers have done well. But if they are top 4, then the D's rocked this trade.

There is enough points for Kako without 28,31 and 37 (Stringer). All of those we will trade to get another future first next year.

to be fair, you really have no idea how each club rates the draftees. just because you read Cal Twomey's top 30 doesn't mean you have a clue if a club would bid on Kako or not. Windsor wasn't considered a top 10 or even top 15 pick according to these phantom drafts, next minute we take him at 7.

Rosa is a genius. Harley Reid is coming next year
Harley Reid is contracted until 2026. There will be another 9 Vic clubs chasing him but I think he most likely nominate Geelong as he grew up barracking for them. I just find the trade strange as this is a super draft and you could have had a top 10 pick + Kako.

no idea where he had Kako. I don't read into that stuff. It's just a rough guide. You were probably the guy that said 'there's no way the dees pass over Dan Curtin'. Next minute, the dees pass over Curtin. You have no idea where each individual club rates each player. 1 month ago, Lalor was considered a pick between 7-15. Now he's seen as a top 1-5 prospect. Everyone is just following media articles and you're no different. Otherwise, give me your top 5 and we'll see how wrong you are.
