I managed to pick up a couple of freebie corporate tickets yesterday for my old man and I including brunch beforehand at the Park Hyatt with Kevin Sheedy, Jonathon Brown and Dermott Bretton on stage, hate to know what the $$ cost of the package would have been, but pumped!
Yea wow that is trusting! Did you also have a physical ticket, or was it swipe in with card? MCC is card only, no ticket. AFL members is ticket entry, card inspection only on request by the attendants.
Would probably have been AFL members you bought from, not MCG members, which isn't really a thing, unless you are referencing MCC members, which would be extremely rare for someone to let someone share their MCC card with their photo on it, and if caught lose a membership which takes 30 years to...
No. It’s the only difference between full membership and restricted membership, access to the GF. And the only way to go from restricted to full is time….wait and wait…
But on the day, MCC monitors how many full members are coming through the gate, and they are very good with the data, so on...
It can’t happen due to MCC (23,000) and AFL members (20-25,000). It’s a bit of a misnomer anyway, yes there is a lot of neutrals at the GF but a large portion of MCC and AFL members will be a supporter of the clubs competing. I’d estimate approx 70,000 of the crowd is a direct club supporter of...
I have missed out in the ballot being P3. But am MCC restricted as well. With 2 interstate sides I reckon they will open MCC for restricted access, but you don’t find out until about 11am on the day normally.
Last time they opened tickets to general public was Sydney West Coast 2005 I think, about 1000 tickets. As I got one. Top of the Great Southern Stand. Unbelievable to be there! The only area of the ground that the AFL has control to do this is the AFL members and if they don’t take up there...
I think the Parker move was just smart coaching, knowing how Allir can impact F50 entries. By Parker doing that selfless role freed up our big men to run and lead at the football without that defender floating in across and filling the hole or cutting off kicks.
It is nearly an irrelevant data...
Our forward line clicked last night. It was clearly evident sitting 1 row from the back in the Victor Trumper stand how well the forwards worked in terms of waiting until the right time to then create a nice large hole for one of them to lead in to. Meant our F50 entries were way better with no...
Yep, it’s $$$. Hence why I reckon they do the 2 tickets per barcode. With he prelim at the MCG being an interstate side and these kind of prices I reckon it leaves the crowd 10k-15k short of where it could be with more reasonable pricing.
This game 100% should be a sellout at the SCG.
What are the prices of tickets? AFL goes a bit nuts on PF ticket prices which holds demand back a bit I reckon. Saying that, I am surprised it isn’t 1 ticket per barcode as a lot of swans members will want to go that may not be able to go to the GF so last time seeing the team this year.
My app is just saying ‘Access Denied’ no idea why, hopefully it fixed itself tomorrow. My old man and I are only P3 though, so probably slim chance anyway!
I reckon Parker as sub is the way to go. Doesn’t have the speed/tank for the frenetic pace of finals footy. But definitely has the smarts to come in late 3rd quarter and play that forward/mid role.
Just to close the loop on my query yesterday with regard to GA. My daughter and I came in at about 2:05pm. Still plenty of seats as of now at 2:40pm, could probably leave it until about half an hour before game start and still have choice of decent spot. Caught the end of the VFL side going...
Thanks for the tips all. Balance with keeping kids entertained and them being willing to sit the whole game out. Earlier we get there the harder it is come the end of the game!
Hi all - I have General Admission tickets for my 6yo daughter and I for tomorrow. Reserved seat upgrades are sold out. I have never gone GA before. But understand it is Bays 14-18 in the Victor Trumper Stand.
With the crowd expected, what time would we need to get there to guarantee a seat do...
Um...no. If you are a full member you don’t need a ticket. You just scan in.
The line was restricted members ‘hoping’ for a ticket. They got released online and sold out before those in the line could by. Not sure why they sold them online, they should have just sold them at the gate. Am sure...
