Yeah that’s the new trend. Medallion club is similar. Go after the corporates.
Looks like they tried to address it and sold tickets from under full members patiently queuing
Full members received an email on Wednesday warning them to get to the ground early otherwise they risk missing out.
Update on website at 9:45 this morning stated tickets would go on sale at 11 to restricted members.
Any full members who missed out only have themselves to blame.
Who the **** would pay $5,000 for the medallion club? Lol
It's companies. It's hardly ever individuals. AFL also buys back the medallion club tickets that they sell to companies who don't necessarily want to go to a game (some are only in it for the major games) then on-sell it to the public for about $60-70 a pop.Who the **** would pay $5,000 for the medallion club? Lol
Cluster funk. Reports are everyone was very confused, and half thought there would be another ticket release
Been to an Essendon home game lately? When your ticketing procedures are so archaic and nonsensical that you have to totally confuse and disadvantage your own members just to avoid the embarrassment of empty seats.

No one who was queing had tickets sold from under them, the queue was gone by 8:30. Restricted members didn't gain entry until 11am, people had plenty of time to arrive.
OK just people being outraged for no reason then? Not surprised
Sounds like it. People who arrived 3 hours after gates opened complaining that there were no seats only have themselves to blame. Restricteds being let in is irrelevant, as the reserve could've also easily filled with full members in that time.
It'll be interesting to see how many restricted members were given access though. Based off a second hand story I heard about someone in the restricted queue, it was only a few hundred.

About 700 apparently. No full member missed out and the reserve wasn't a lock out - all walk up seats went but there was still standing room so a full member could have gained entry to the reserve at any point.
Those that are "outraged" are the restricted members that lined up to buy tickets at gate 2 when they went on sale at 11. Some of whom missed out because people, like myself, bought them online for the comfort of our couches. They only have themselves to blame though, at no point did the MCC state Restricted members would need to line up and from mid week said tickets would be sold online and that would be quicker, should they be released.
Tough that late but I did walk in 10min after the bounce in 2010 for the draw and got a seat. What time on GF day does the MCC usually fill up? Can you just roll up at 2PM?
What exactly is the problem with doing this?
Surely even MCC members don't want to line up hours before the game to try and grab a seat.
