I do concede you were right about the restricted free agency rules, they can walk if they don't wanna stay.
Still stand by zero chance Collingwood get LDU as we won't have the trade assets for him and its a fantasy to expect we are in the chase for him, even more so now we just traded a 2025...
If you match the contract, the guy can't leave unless he is traded. And North can match any contract. If he was unrestricted, I would be on board the chase.
If we believe that they will be poor again in 2025 and have another top 5 draft pick, would they really value another high pick like they...
Yep. So your thinking is another club could be as stupid as Gold Coast? There is no go home factor here either. Isn't Gold Coasts irrelevancy exactly the reason you'd match? That endless high picks doesn't equal success?
Essentially LDU is saying, North are shit and I don't wanna be here If he...
As if North wouldn't match. They can't just become the joke that is Gold Coast. Why would they need another pick 2 or 3 when they have no senior players? They have a heap of top end talent already but nowhere near enough quality around LDUs age. He is not Ben McKay who you'd gladly take the deal...
Port gave up x2 first round pics to get JHF who was less proven than LDU.
It's just nonsense. We have no first round pick. The only way we get LDU is trading Moore, DeGoey or Naicos. Pipedream.
Yeah? Let me know the last time a player of his quality left as a restricted free agent? Makes no sense for Nth not to match any bids and then trade. And the it will require 2x early firsts.
No wonder we always have complaining fans. Gotta have rocks in your head to think we are in a position...
I'm not sure of the school level of the peeps around here...if he is a restricted free agent, North can just match. And North would have the most free cap space in the comp. It would take a miracle to pry him out without offering North something like two early round firsts. Something we don't...
So your expectation is we bring in LDU and Ed Richards next year?
Have a feeling you are destined to be disappointed. It would be a miracle if we got one of them.
Bit disappointed he isn't gonna be available against GWS in opening round next year as you would think the Giants will be breathing fire...nekminnit

Houston is arguably the best kick in the comp. Perhaps Naicos might be, now, we have both.
Cripps can't kick and Trac is inconsistent as well.
DeGoey is our Trac or Cripps. We just need him fit.
Yeah Houston is the best player we would have brought in since Buckley. Absolute jet off half back, great interceptor too.
If we do get him, can't wait to see how he impacts our ball movement.
I can understand Carlton not throwing everything at him. They have Docherty back in next year who will play a very similar role, one would think.
Actually surprised they aren't throwing everything at him though, they usually target the name over the need.
For us, we lose Noble and don't...
Gold Coast ain't getting the future first rounder off us, Port are for Houston.
Port won't take Richards and pick 13 for Houston. They'd just keep him. He's contracted.
As if Port are gonna give up Houston for pick 13 and Richards. The more reasonable price would be pick 13, our future first, Richards and a Port future second to go to GC.
So it would be:
GC
Give up: Lukosious, pick 13
Gain: Noble, Port/Pies future first, Port future second
Pies
Give up...
GC would definitely say no. We would need to give more to get pick 13 off GC.
Would be absolutely deliriously happy if it did though. Houston, Naicos, Jaicos that is some supremely talented foot skills on one team.
If we can somehow turn Richards, Noble and our future first into Houston, we've made out like bandits.
Houston is a genuine A grader.
Can't see it happening, but we'd be back up amongst flag favs with Houston and Perryman coming in.
Perryman is a good average AFL player. Definitely worthwhile bringing in as a free agent but not a game changer.
Lord is possibly the worst set shot kick in the comp. No thanks.
Tomlinson as cover is pretty uninspiring, but for nothing he is OK. Would prefer him to Frampton who really loses...
