This was discussed On the Couch a couple of months ago. Where does this Hawthorn forward-line sits in history? We are the highest scoring team and have the most options up forward. When one player has a quiet one, another pop-ups.
Our line up consists of:
HF: Gunston Franklin Puopolo...
Wow am surprised by the results on poll.
Hawthorn are the harder, more skilled, star-filled side than Sydney. Like already mentioned, Hawthorn winning is better for football, and is simply rewarding the best side. Guys like Buddy, Hodge, Rioli and Mitchell deserve another premiership and to be...
Exactly. He did nothing of note in my opinion. Yet here we are having a wank about a team who didn't win, about players who didn't do enough and were only let in because of some mishaps from their opposition who are undeniably superior.
Exactly. This is grand final week, the only of its kind all year and we are in the box seat. We aren't assured of this next year, so don't worry whether the opposition fans care about your opinions honestly. Who cares.
We will win. Deal with it how you like.
What can I say, I was so inspired by the apologies thread for the Crows after their loss.
Rioli has been discredited a lot this week after his position in the AA team.
Hawthorn fans know what he does each week, but because of the medias focus on him since the start of his amazing career for...
We have better mental strength and determination than any other club. That is how we won the 2008 grand final against a weak Geelong. Don't think Sydney are as weak and they have a decent culture, but they are still no match.
Even if we are 50 points down at half time I will still believe we...
His game was fine.
That is our one potential weakness and luckily we are going to play the one team without the potential to exploit it. Even if Goodes pops up and take a couple of marks he aint going to kick them under pressure.
Because they were never going to win. They were always going to miss the grand final coming up against us. Why not throw everything - but we all know now it was only ever going to bounce straight back.
Still don't rate them. Our kicking more than anything else kept them in the game. Straight kicking and we would have had a massive lead and they would be shattered. Not a top 4 team, but there is always next year.
Honest question to spark an analysis of the upcoming game.
Hawthorn will go in as overwhelming favorites. They are in better form, have a better line-up, and have more finals experiences.
If they both come out and play their best, Hawthorn for the win. So the unexpected needs to occur for...
If this was a H&A game I would expect to win by 30.
Cause this is a finals game I expect to win by 50 plus honestly.
We have this in the bag and will stroll into the grand final in a better position than any other team. Lid, what lid?
Pity Maxwell isnt playing for this one. Wouldn't put it past him at 3 quarter time to mention McCarthy and try get inspirational.
Pies really need to have a good hard look at themselves if they need this to perform honestly.
We are going to be so fresh going into the big one. Absolute stroll in. I will be annoyed if we dont win by more than 40.
Whilst Sydney and Pies/WC will belt each other to pieces.
I am not gay. But I would marry Mitchell tonight if given the chance.
Such a hard contest and everyone was committed. Pressure was insane. We will be even better with Lewis, it was smart not to risk him but i would for the big one.
He is no captain. He beats his chest and sprouts cliched nothing. None of it comes out on the field.
How many free kicks and 50m penalties did he give away tonight?
Should go for that hit. Was high, off the ball and intentional.
For those who don't know, Buckley had a yell at the umpires on the ground during a major break.
I dont think the umps were marvelous tonight, but I definitely don't think they made any impact on the result. I dont think they had much impact on the momentum. Some calls were questionable...
So amped for this.
Honestly think Pies are shot for this year. Have no structures at all, their midfield is doing the grunt of their work so if our entire 18 on-field can pressure them enough and blanket them we're in with a more than decent chance.
