Sloane, Tippett, Walker and Dangerfield - Take a bow.

In a way, Adelaide's performance tonight was pretty similar to that of Hawthorn's in last year PF in that not many gave either a shot and both performed admirably well on the night despite expectations.

Adelaide have some serious upside. They will be a scary proposition for the next while I imagine.

He didn't go missing, he was still making a ton of contests in the 4th. Anyone who didn't think he had a great game.... well I don't know what you were watching. Those four, Mitchell and Rioli were the best on ground.
Didn't rate Thompsons game?

There were plenty of stand-out performances from players on both sides. It was a game worthy of a GF and we should all hope that next week is of the same standard.

Can't believe some of the Hawthorn-cry-boys on here though. Melbourne would be flooded with tears if not for a lucky bounce, an unlucky bounce, a dropped mark or a poor umpiring decision that could have changed the result.

I thought he was good. He worked well in close like he always does but he was hardly damaging with his disposal. When you contrast that with Mitchell who was doing similar work but just kept burning Adelaide with his bullet handpasses and it just overshadowed Thompson's work.

He had a good night.

Because they were never going to win. They were always going to miss the grand final coming up against us. Why not throw everything - but we all know now it was only ever going to bounce straight back.

This kind of arrogance is the reason pretty much everyone whose not a Hawks supporter will be supporting Sydney next week. I thought Pies fans are arrogant but they've got nothing on you guys. o_O

Thompson was massive. Did everything possible to get them over the line.

Tippett finally justified an elite pay packet. Huge game. Walker is the star in that forward line though. He'll kick 80+ next year.

Sloane I didnt rate as highly, thought he went in and out of the game a bit.

Some of the lesser lights deserve recognition. Otten, L Thompson, Henderson, Mackay, Smith (will be truly elite) were all very good.

Personally i thought Tippett was the only one of them to play a good 4 quarters. Sloane was great in the first half but quiet after half time. Walker was very good in the 2nd quarter but didn't do a lot for the rest of the game and Dangerfield nearly took the game away from us in the last quarter but was quieter in the first 3.

Dangerfield had just 4 effective disposals of 11 in the last. How is that good? He burns the ball way too much to be considered anywhere near elite, and now to add to that he goes missing in finals.

Exactly. He did nothing of note in my opinion. Yet here we are having a wank about a team who didn't win, about players who didn't do enough and were only let in because of some mishaps from their opposition who are undeniably superior.

Tipett was literally running through people tonight. His contested work (both on the ground and in marking contests) was exceptional.

Like Sydney, I thought some of their no-name defenders were fantastic tonight. Nothing flashy but very disciplined and building good chemistry/cohesion in that back six.

Dangerfield predictably ran out of puff after 10 minutes of brilliance. If he can sustain that for longer periods, he could be the next Judd.

So we have a heap of threads congratulating the losing team and singling out individual players from that losing team yet barely any recognition for the team that won and the guy(s) that made it happen.

And you think I have got it wrong?

You're a moron.

I think you should sook more.

And people on here whinge about Rioli being overrated and the media jizzing their pants whenever he gets the ball....

Dangerfield is a turnover merchant who doesn't know his own limitations. Needs to do the team thing a bit more often and work on his disposal. A promising player, but not close to elite yet.

Tippett was dominant, but that's not hard on Schoenmakers, especially when he's having a bad day. Walker very good at times too.

This is an ignorant comment from someone who clearly has a low IQ and not much knowledge about AFL. I pity you. Once you realise that Hawthorn's GF appearance was gift-wrapped by the men in yellow (whom were fingering themselves all day over the prospect of a hawks victory), you will understand that Sydney will hurt you next week.

Are you unemployed or looking for work? Based on your intelligence I can't tell at this point. While your thinking about it, watch this:
