Players Who Never Quite Made The Grade

Genuinely thought Josh Prudden was going to be better than he was. I remember a very early game of his at Willy against Collingwood where him and Hunter dominated as youngsters. By the time he made it into the senior time it looked like the flair he had was gone.

Looked good tonight. Composed with the footy and kicks well. Hopefully his form keeps up for the rest of the year.

VFL ROUND 4 (WILLY Vs FOOTSCRAY)

Is Jordan Sweet injured? I had a look on the WB website and couldn’t see his name on the injury list...but he hasn’t been named in the team either.

Strategy Trade and List management (Add your rumour to the simmering stew that is the post season. Edition.)

A bit sad but a bit funny also, I did have a chuckle at Sid’s jumper on the last chance rack when I was in the Bulldogs shop this morning.

Had some classic lines though "Break a deal face the wheel"

BT asks Roughy "What do you make of that?", pointing to his medallion, I so wanted Roughy to reply "Well I could make a hat, a broach or a pterodactyl".

What They're Saying - The Bulldogs Media Thread

Loosely related to Bulldogs media I guess.....Liam Picken's partner has had quite a bit of news this week apparently (so my wife tells me). Was on Sunrise this morning, Daily Mail website with her article had 2 million views as well. She's become a mum blogger apparently with the latest an...

    Dale Morris injury update

I was at a work safe function at the club on Tuesday morning where Dale was the guest speaker. He said that he was training with the main group in full practice later that day with the intention of selection this weekend. He mentioned it was an 8-10 week injury and for him it's been 9 weeks.

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

Rupertswood started in the clubbies with a flag and went through the grades from there. Not every grade of clubbies has washed up hacks in it.

OTP, I'm pretty sure you've got more integrity than that. The point you're at now it may be best to pass on the baton.

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

Yeah I don't really do the name calling on the internet thing so I'll make this my last comment on the matter. PC had a choice at the commencement of their senior club; they could start with a single senior team (in the clubbies) and fill it with products of the junior club, showing a clear...

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

Good comparison. Werribee were definitely easybeats and for much longer than two years - throughout that whole time though they had quality juniors coming through the ranks who either chose not to play for the senior club or played there without reaching their full potential. When the culture...

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

The fact remains that they have still underperformed. Like I said, when you compare them to Rupertswood, or Werribee, then there is something wrong internally. If you can't see that then maybe you're part of the problem. Good luck in 2014.

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

No idea who is coach, hence the question. I know Fraser did it up till recently but not sure who has replaced him? From a club perspective the junior section of it is something that every other club in the D grades would kill for. It's reasonable to compare PC with Rupertswood who shot up the...

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

Who's coaching PC this year? Biggest underperformers ever. How a club with the quality and quantity of junior talent coming through like they have had haven't had more success is beyond me. Should be in a position to win the flag by 10 goals but will probably be middle of the road again.

    D4 Division 4 - 2014

Same players, same ground, same colours, same theme song, same honour boards, almost the same name. Sounds like the same club to me.

Herald Sun article 'KB says he got it right'

Look at Nathan Brown about to pull Libba off his mate Wayne Campbell. Should have known all those years ago where his loyalty lay.

    Clubs in crisis.

There are only two former OW players at Werribee. OW are suffering more at the hands of their further away neighbours Trentham where there are up to 11 former players running around in the seniors at any time. Either way, the senior team is struggling but the club as a whole is not. Seven...

    D4 Division 4 Section 2011

Pretty sure that was 2001 wasn't it? And they won flags in seniors and ressies that year. Do they have a junior structure anymore? I remember talking to their pres back then (a thick set greek fella) and he told me that they had three or four junior teams that were coming through.
