Thank you for correcting me, and in such a succinct way too.
I have since read your subsequent posts on the matter I raised and are now much more enlightened.
I will try in the future to scrutinise the rule book and other source material before posting further opinions on subjects that may be...
It's been a while since I have posted anything, but I am astounded by the hee-haw around some of the decisions in the Essendon/Geelong game. Just watched AFL 360 (and here I am 14 hours behind) and to hear Brad Scott say that the AFL told him that the rushed behind ruling was an error left me...
I also had the same issue. I had earlier been able to sign in not that there was anything to watch in December or January. I sent off an email as well to the support team and they also fixed it in a day.
Not seeing Friday's game listed though but no worries, the Tassie game is showing is being...
They should not be getting a compensation pick, let alone a priority pick.
It's not like North player (who can remember their names) has had a successful career at North, so how can their results be affected if he leaves to go to Essendon for a 5 year $750K contract? They can replace him with...
Just watched the sell on 360.
In my opinion it deflates the excitement of a team needing to win in round 24 (or the last round) and how other results could affect its fate.
You could still loose (or play dead) and then still have the opportunity to contest against a team that busted its guts...
Just watched the last quarter of the Swan vs Cats game.
Where was the leading forward?
Where was the pack mark?
(Where were the hard-earned free kicks, but that's the game at the moment.)
For a drawn game it didn't have any intensity and was rather a blur. Give me packs, give me contests...
This is just another example of the consequences of the AFL rule interpretation changes.
Correct me if I am wrong, but players weren't thrown or slung to the ground as much as they are now. A tackle was made, and a tackle was paid as free kick.
It seems there is a greater emphasis on tackling...
I haven't seen him play and have only seen the highlights on the Hawthorn site.
With David Hale as one of his coaches going forward (and being roughly the same height and playing roughly the same position) it will be interesting where he sits, or plays, or how he develops within the next few...
From afar as I do not hear or see the news via television or radio, but our review gave the families an opportunity and a voice to raise their concerns.
The AFL in their statement yesterday listed as one of their undertaking, education on whistle blower strategies.
Was not our review/health...
I remember a member of our Team of the Century stared his career on the wing before moving into the back line.
If he can be half as good as Langers, take it and run with it!
A question if I may.
I was watching the videos from the PCM yesterday and one player thanked his player manager for investing in his career.
Got me thinking about the player managers of our players being discussed in this forum. The players, could of course, have raised they concerns...
Well another Ashes done and dusted with England down and out.
Started with playing the first Test in Brisbane which provides such a great home team advantage.
Brings me back to last summer's series vs India which we lost.
The Brisbane Test was the 4th Test in the Series not the first like...
Thanks Grumbleguts.
I took your advice on board then spent 10 minutes looking at myself in the mirror this morning.
Two realisations:
1. I shouldn't drink as much the night before and
2. I need a haircut.
While one set of supporters are going to be happy; the other set will most likely experience their first Grand Final lost:
Melbourne last lost in 2001 - 21 years ago
Western Bulldogs - 60 years ago against us.
If Bulldogs win not a bad winning percentage 75% as this is only their fourth...
Stumbled upon a Podcast called "No Merger" today. Wasn't aware of it previously but it was released July 2020. Didn't go delve very deep but ran for two hours of so all up. Took me back to that time and as I was out for my walk I did do a few fist pumps as I remembered a few things (in Canberra...
Some weird free kicks paid during the game, some completely in contrast to how they have been paid during the whole of the season.
Then with a minute to go ruck free to the Dogs.
Go figure
Just checked the replay as gee I had already had a few wines. I could had been slightly intoxicated last night. In hindsight he was just giving Whitfield a hug.:)
Seems your reading of the marking contact was correct Simon. Late, 50 metres and nothing more.
Surprising I can't seem to find any mention of it in the media this morning.
Now it Toby was playing and................;)
The supporters behind the goals - I think I saw the price tags still attached to the jumpers and beanies. How much is the AFL paying each of them to attend?
