I've always thought that but don't know for sure. This is where the real scam is, reserving a seat shouldn't cost the same amount as a ticket into the ground. $5-$7 at most.
I pay around $840 for 17 games, home and away reserved seating, approx $50 a game.
Of course we get some stickers and this year a cap and scarf.
It also includes a social club membership, yet we do not get cheaper food or drinks in the members, or any other merchandise etc that other non members...
I can't see how this is going to help...
Is the theory, "the cheaper games will draw bigger attendances than they are currently?" "Memberships for clubs with cheaper games will increase?"
So because I'm a member of Collingwood I'll have to pay more? Friday night games blockbusters? State Derby's blockbusters?
At least one easy decision will be to get rid of Queens Birthday - for Collingwood that is. As a home and away member I don't see why I should have to pay more for that...
A stupid question perhaps but can someone let us know what penalties WCE incurred from the AFL? I’d appreciate it as I really have no idea.
I only recall Cousins being suspended, which from memory most people (perhaps not on BF? not sure) were pretty bewildered about. Legally that is...
Exactly right, this is an AFL issue, and was NOT designed to name and shame but to help and protect. My only wish is that if a player is banned that their payments are not included in the salary cap. That would be very unfair to clubs.
I can't wait to hear the AFL spin on this. Clearly we all have differing opinions on what is tanking. Can Demetriou actually define it and if he can't the AFL is in big trouble.
It is a bit sad but like Matthews before him he knows the rules. Once out of a club you are now the enemy. How many coaches did he dismiss in finals when he perceived their eye was on another ball due to them going to leave? Every one of them. But Collingwood let him coach on for two years...
Exactly my point. Nobody to help the dysfunctional forward line. He's there to help Cloke work out the forward set up. Cloke can hardly become a victim next year with the money he's on. He'll get crucified by media, fans, enemies, rightly or wrongly.
Not sure if it has already been said, too much crazy on this thread to read all.
Collingwood have clearly paid a lot for Cloke, our forward line for many many reasons was incredibly dysfunctional this year therefore we are in dire need for someone to lead? Lynch is to teach Cloke how to "own"...
Clearly. MM would have an interesting book to write but with Christi's writing abilities and obvious rose coloured glasses I find it difficult to take seriously. It reads like a fairytale, even if based on some fact it isn't balanced.
Nathan Buckley's book is a very good read and he certainly...
Haha one I admire, one I love. I actually proposed a Daicos tax in the late nineties to the Collingwood members and to my surprise.....it was a yeah. It was at the cricketers though. Not AGM.
There's certainly a lot of that at Collingwood too. Some old great numbers I often see, eg I think Burnsy or Beams? The list goes on. I can normally work out the number 35 though :-)
He's keeping the masses happy, like Eddie he knows what they want to hear. McAllister was very good at it too. Most times they're not serious and don't believe it themselves.
Dawes will probably not play next week, Reid always has issues. So no, not suspicious.
I still believe there was more than the two you mentioned in regards to wce. Again haven't seen as many before.
Suspicious? Not necessarily just want to discuss why? And is it a good thing or not.
I think not...
Did you not notice fully fit players going down to the rooms. I was at the game so had no commentary
But noticed it like no other game. Asked a friend who was watching from home, the commentators apparently said the were getting needles.
