Is the Q Stick really an upgrade over Dawes?

Once again a bunch of hilarious nostradamus's on this site. How the hell do any of you know how either trade will work out? You can be excited or bitter, but let's not pretend we can predict the future. I know you need something to discuss in the off season....but stuff like this is just sad.

But no Dawes, meaning the forward line will be smaller or we play Paine. I also don't understand why you're saying my post is rubbish. I basically agreed with you. The question is who really who will perform better over the next 2 years, and after that it's whether the draft picks we picked up in the Dawes trade perform better than Dawes

A good football club has to look at the future as well as the present, i think we have done that beutifully this off season. Improved our current team, and improved our future team.

Dont think you can say youve improved your current team or your future team until the trades you made play themselves out.

Over the past two seasons Jack Darling arrived, NicNat has developed, the forward line at the Eagles has evolved (fair dinkum changed), Lynchy got older, free agency arrived .... got squatt to do with talking to the Pies.

A one year contract v two ... good result for the Q Stick !!

Yep he got the message he would be spending time in the WAFL next year and it would be his last and took the extra year pies super pay out. Good on him, smart play.

Lynch is actually a decent player. Definitely a loss for the Eagles.

Just going on what I've seen from Dawes he looks like a shit sandwich but maybe I'm missing something, might flourish at the Dees with less spotlight on his form and not having to compete with Cloke.

Bit ironic talking about injuries as an Essendon suppoter. Joe already has hamstrings issues looks like your about to draft another Gumbleton and ruin it for everyone.

Good to see I've hit a nerve and got you all worried.

recruiting the Q stick...lmao

Hope it all works out for ya's...

So will Joey D be worth a spot in the Bombers AFL side in 2013 or be a VFL regular, my guess is its a couple of years away, just like Jack Watts ...

Zat the best you could think of?

Now I know you're annoyed..lol

You, me and every Pie supporter in the land know getting the stickman is a huge risk.

Might pay off, might not.

Of course I'm hoping it all goes horribly wrong and it sparks a decline in CFC's fortunes for years to come.:)

Certain to get injured and miss weeks of footy and Collingwood will then have nothing but a Cloke to go too.

Should have kept Jack Anthony..
???

Anthony has been terrible for the Shockers. Horribly over paid and consistently under delivered.

More than that, the only thing that stopped Lynch from breaking the Eagles consecutive games record was being dropped for poor form. This will be the real issue the Pies will have to deal with. Lynch can go through some pretty long periods where he can't take a chest mark to save his life. However, he keeps at it and will find form again. He won't go into as big a form slump as Dawes did though.

Not sure if it has already been said, too much crazy on this thread to read all.
Collingwood have clearly paid a lot for Cloke, our forward line for many many reasons was incredibly dysfunctional this year therefore we are in dire need for someone to lead? Lynch is to teach Cloke how to "own", lead that forward line. Coaches can't do everything. I think Lynch is going to be for Cloke what Brereton was to Rocca. Or that's the thinking behind it.

hard for cloke to lead when he has got opposition guarding space in front of him..

people seem to forget how often cloke was double and triple teamed this year. Hard to lead when there is no space

Exactly my point. Nobody to help the dysfunctional forward line. He's there to help Cloke work out the forward set up. Cloke can hardly become a victim next year with the money he's on. He'll get crucified by media, fans, enemies, rightly or wrongly.

I'd rather have Dawes than Lynch but the question isn't relevent anyway nor is the compo v trade price. Lynch should have allowed Dawes to play as Dawes as opposed to Leigh Brown. Lynch is possibly an upgrade on Brown. The real question for Collingwood is whetehr Paine will be an upgrade on Dawes and who they can land with the pick.
