I actually thought the most recent episode was a bit of a return to the early days of the podcast, much heavier with war stories rather than the two of them dissecting the media issues from the week. Was good to hear.
It's amazing now that I think the best product Triple M produce is the Sunday Rub. They've just got the mix right which is saying something as I think individually, Nathan Brown, Mark Howard, Wayne Carey, Ross Lyon and Jay Clark aren't the best but together they seem to work really well.
Maybe controversial but imo Nick Riewoldt is by far the best fill in with Billy on the Rush Hour, far superior to Dale Thomas and
Leigh Montagna. He just seems much more natural and funnier than the others, also strikes me as a bit sharper too.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Hutchy made a big move for JB and Bill to bring the rush hour over from Triple M which keeps getting shafted with time slot changes.
I think the best way would be to have some sort of wiki where anyone can go in an edit and have it broken down into years/rounds/games that can be filled in over time.
I seem to also remember Gerald Whately doing at least one game on ten in about 02-03 as a play by play?
One thing I always find odd is they never coordinate their suits and ties on seven like they did on ten and they still do on fox, maybe its a tinny thing but it makes fox look that much more professional when they all dress the same.
One of the first games I went to was a bizarre match. Was right behind the kick on level three. Could have easily been in the horrific memories thread had it played out slightly differently.
I've always liked to mix it up over the weekend. I think SEN on friday nights can't be beaten with Huddo and Grandland, Triple m Saturday afternoon including the rub is brilliant, Saturday night is a tough one for me as it's usually the b teams, maybe ABC or Triple M, Sunday also mix it up...
I'm still keen to see (not that it's likely to happen) a young vs old game, maybe 18-24 vs 24 and above or something like that not really sure on the ages yet but think it would be genuinely interesting to see.
I remember this it was a great feature, the irony is that Clinton Grybas would usually call on Sundays and he was one of the best and one of the least likely people you would want to mute!
I'm a sucker for goals at crunch times in games so for me the Blight one has to be the best ever. Other goals I remember clearly are Grant's goal to sink the bombers in 2000, Hird against the Eagles in 2004 and the goal Fev kicked at football park to beat the crows in 2004 irc. Buddys goal in...
Had another crack at a similar design, quite simple but I think they look ok, again if anyone has tips for how to incorporate the logos into designs that would be sweet.
Pretty poor form by people mocking the op, particularly given the example(s) in the EPL and NBA of exactly the same problem, some people need to grow up have a look outside their own backyard before pointing the finger at the op.
For what it's worth I think if a kid had the tallent it could be...
I don't mind Dwayne Russell's commentary, he's not my favorite and I can see why people don't like him, but he has a good voice for the game and gets genuinely excited in close games and for brilliant play. I think he gets a bit of harsh treatment on these boards to be honest, BT and Basil on...
Ty Zantuck
But seriously, probably Carey, kicked lots of crunch goals plus I think he'd know how to have a good night of celebration after he slots it.
Maybe it's not the place to ask but seeing as many people by the looks it have ties to players one way or another (played junior footy with them, went to school, family friends etc) do you think any players would have big footy accounts? I think it's highly likely but probably not that common.
A few mates of mine go to Uni with Ayce Cordy and I met him out one night in mid 2010 after being introduced by one of our mutual friends at Perseverance in Fitzroy, he was lovely and he was huge. I'm 6 foot 3 and he mad me feel like a midget. Great guy good to chat to, probably helped we had...
Yeah something like that where the afl have their own dedicated channel(s) , not that it's likely to happen, kind of like if fox footy had all the games but was run and owned by the afl and was on fta. It's more just a starting point to see how people would structure a set of commentary teams...
