It's kind of hard to pick a 6 man forward line because I don't think there are many players who will play purely in the forward.
I expect we'll have:
*players who will spend most of their time in the midfield and a little time up forward that will include
Judd, Robinson, Gibbs, McLean...
We all want the Blues to win as many games as possible, make the finals and win the lot but on a smaller scale what are the milestones that you guys think would be a good sign for the team this year.
I'm not talking about structural improvements or about certain players but about certain...
Great write up but I find that comment a bit unfair, take the best 4 players out of any side and it's probably the difference between making the 8 and not. What I'd give to have Tex at the blues :(
B :....Yarran......Jamison.....Laidler

Muted the game at half time... by then it was pretty clear to me that Dangerfield, Walker, Crouch, Johncock, White etc etc etc were or are going to be super stars of the competition and unstoppable...
Considering there were a lot of players who had pretty average games and we're missing a...
Yeah, personally I think he's got the stuff to be a decent player but unfortunately for him there are too many inside mids ahead of him in the pecking order and he's currently competing with Ellard and Bell for the number 1 depth spot. Unfortunately both Ellard and Bell are better when it comes...
I think he's been pretty decent, equal highest position getter, good defensive pressure, 3 tackles. Curnow's problem is he needs another string to his bow. I think he's decent over head so maybe if he could spend some time forward and slot a goal a game he would greatly improve his chances
I have a feeling for NAB 3 Kreuzer will get the vest, Warnock will spend most of the time in the ruck and Hampson will spend most of his time up forward.
I think the pressure is on Warnock at this point to prove his worth for round 1.
I was talking to my brother about the captaincy during the game and my 3 year old niece offered her opinion that everyone should be captain. It's kinda like you're idea :P
Yeah I agree with the talls you mentioned, that's assuming Waite is fit. If he's not 100% right to go I'd go with Rowe
I know it's just a practice match but I haven't got much faith in Watson playing against Pav or similar forwards. Pav will run him round in circles. Think he's more suited to...
Guess you missed :
The decision to allow part of Judd's payment to be included as part of injury payments has surprised some industry insiders, although it's understood Geelong's Joel Selwood and Collingwood's Dane Swan have similar deals.
Prefer they just got rid of all these deals.
Judging from what MM said about the team confusing the two game plans and still having a long way to go before perfecting his game plan I have a feeling we'll be playing a fairly strong side and this week will be more about getting our main 24-26 players more comfortable with the game plan...
My 2 players are Kruezer and Gibbs.
Both number 1 draft picks and both getting to the age where we really want to see them step up into that A grade level. We know that they're both capable of it but both have had their reasons for not being able to get there.
Kreuzer obviously has had some...
I feel like the club needs to really take advantage and be innovative in terms of using the internet to attract members. The old days of the social club are no more but the internet can be used in much the same way.
For example what if the club had a facebook group/forum that only members...
There are no teams I particularly don't liking watching but I enjoyed watching the Tigers last year because their games always seemed to be high scoring and close, regardless of who they're playing, the Hawks because they have so much talent and GWS because unlike GC (IMO) you can really see...
I tried this at the start of the preseason and it was pretty hard then, it has only become harder.
For me, assuming they're all fit, these are my 100% ins at this point:
HB: Laidler, Jamison
B: Yarran, Henderson, Scotland
C: Simpson, McLean, Gibbs
R: Judd, Kreuzer, Murphy
HF: Walker, Waite...
Again not sure what I said that has given you the impression that I was dealing "death and judgement". Do you mind cluing me in what I've said that has caused offense?
I'm assuming you took offense at something I said, not sure what tbh.
I am looking forward to round 2 though, the rivalry has felt a bit dull recently.
Just because "not much" can be taken out of it doesn't mean us BFers aren't going to do our damn best (and worst) to extract that little that we can :P
Great to have the footy back!
It was only the first game and there's not much that you can really take from the nab cup but a few things I noticed.
Seems like Buckley is really hoping to utilise long precised kicks as well as using the corridor a lot more. I thought out of all the new...
