For what it's worth, Dougal captained Port when Jonas and Wines were unavailable last year. Not sure if he's necessarily ready for the job as a solo act, but he'd be an astute choice as co or vice captain.
Apologies for the intrusion. Wanted to add my congratulations for Ben's year. Worked with him (and the rest of the Lions academy) years ago as part of a development course I did. Looked like an absolute gun (making me look pretty silly in the process) and I've been disappointed watching on for...
Was really impressed with Andrews, Bewick and Close tonight. Big fan of all three, so seeing them do well was good to see.
Zorko is a champion as usual.
Good luck in the season proper. Hope you guys stick to that style of play. Entertaining.
Fletcher Roberts has done a number on him in the past and Joel Hamling has done well this year as a rule, so I wouldn't think the Dogs would worry about him too much.
Far out, there's some serious throwing the baby out with the bathwater going on here. GWS are a very good side, and we more than matched them for a half. Yes the second half was disappointing, but I for one would much prefer we tried to win every game we can for the rest of the season.
Schulz...
Hey guys,
Just wanted to say that I think Maynard's been very impressive for the most part this season.
Also his error was no worse than what Pittard used to do. Some players, no matter how well they are playing, seem to have luck against them and an innocuous fumble turns into a certain...
I don't understand the calls for Austin to be dropped. Why can't people understand that a young key position player needs a sustained crack at the highest level to actually develop? Isn't interruptions in development what we are putting Butcher's problems down as?
I think that's pretty harsh on both Westhoff and Hartlett to be honest. Westhoff's consistently good, despite some of the melts on here about him, and sometimes pulls out some blinders. Just like most players. The difference is that his best is so utterly different from anyone else that it...
Plowman will be the best of them I think. Sumner, Lamb and Phillips have really impressed me too.
Don't think too much of Jaksch or Whiley. Jaksch had moments at GWS where he looked good, but to me it looks like he hasn't kicked on since being traded.
Would like to say how awesome your...
Because a lot of taps went to the opposition and a lot of disposals were hurried kicks out of congestion that were turned over when he should have handballed to blokes running past.
Statistically wasn't bad. Watching him though, was pretty poor.
Honestly thought that neither was the case.
And I honestly could not have cared either way about the outcome. Don't like either team.
Did like Sloane's game tonight. Was the only one who tried all night long in my view.
So he's worked hard to try and improve himself, but let's face it, those numbers are pretty uninspiring.
As to the comparison with Aish, I don't quite think so. Aish was actually very good in 2014 and then went backwards, I'm assuming due to a falling out with coaches off field over the...
He was better than awful against Brisbane, which is more than I can say for just about every game this year.
He had little impact, but at least he didn't gift them goals like he has in the past. Also noticed that he worked really hard and was often ignored when he was in a good spot. Can't...
I can have an opinion based on what I have seen of his TAC and Nab Challenge games. I think on potential he might be scraping into the top 10 young key forwards in the next few years.
As a young key forward, I'd say he is very much part of this conversation. I might be wrong, but his junior...

Big call considering the season hasn't really started yet.
Nah Lobbe was pretty disappointing, though not as bad as some people are saying. On Ebert though, I was quite happy with his performance. Some skill errors, but a better performance than most of last year.
To be honest, I wasn't...
Both guns. Stringer will probably end up with more individual awards, but I think Wingard is more consistently damaging.
Voted for Stringer because an A- player with a Brownlow is remembered as being better than an A player without one.
