9 over after 14. 7 over for the last 4 holes. Dam it. 2 fairways from 13 (although a lot were first cut/fairway bunkers). Sucks ageing. Hobbling around by the end f$%^$£n plantar fasciitis.
He said it was the best he has played and I could sense his excitement from here...but I am sure the magnificent location had a bit to do with that. He said the rough was penal with his playing partner losing 5 balls and himself a couple. I did watch a video of Luke Kwon and his mates playing it...
I changed clubs after about 4/5 years because club head speed had slowed. Lie angle had not changed (3 degrees up), regardless of the amount lessons, practice and tinkering I have done. So much so the fitter said...these were fitted expertly (knowing quite well it was himself that built them...
It works well if you are not good at getting weight onto your lead side at impact. I've played around with it a bit but got lazy turning in the backswing so caused a few issues for me. No idea how it goes with woods...could not get my head around that.
I think they come up against Warney at some point (against Moorabbin as well)...although he was probably more interested in footy at that point. From memory they said he was more of a batter who bowled a few leggies but could rip them.
Cleaned up my first ever Titleist's 755 (2006)...which I cannot hit anymore. Steve Stricker still games them occasionally.
Should I keep for nostalgia or sell and how much would I get for these old girls?
My first ever set was PGF Slammers as a kid, then a set of Daiwa clubs (I working in...
Oh, punch up on the our 4th yesterday (we were waiting on the tee) as some bloke hit his ball across from another fairway onto ours. Another bloke coming up a different fairway steps out and hits the ball towards his green. Words were spoken and voices started to raise. They squared up and about...
New clubs christened on course. 17 over. Just not played enough to be able to score consistently (5 doubles). New lob wedge cost me a few strokes...the biggest problem with the lighter sticks is knowing where the club head is and I thought this might be the case. Will take time to get used to...
I saw some post somewhere where a "patron" at Augusta was sitting near the famous 13th tee and a divot feel near him...he took it home and had it growing very healthy in a pot. Genius.
Got my irons on Friday for this weekend. One range session and lots of backyard hitting. They go well but like anything a bad swing is a bad swing. Just have to make sure I turn properly when striking the ball and don't get lazy there. Will skull a few as they are much lighter than what I was...
