Game Day AFL Round 9 - Collingwood vs North Melbourne Matchday Discussion (JDG the sub)

I'm a fan of frost. But that contest on the half forward line near the boundary just before half time. It was 3 v 3. Frost lack of intensity was disgrassful. Nahas hunted the ball and they got a goal out of it. That small sample sums up our game so far. And on top of that the fumbles, who is...

    Player Watch Nathan Freeman

Fingers crossed he becomes the player we hope he will be. They all develop and progress at different rates. Some examples of others who took along time but are now good players would be David Armatige and Ben Cunnington. Both top 10 draft picks, both took 3-4 years to establish themselves. So...

Strategy How Much Money in the Cap?

Why would we want to chase Aish. I think he wants to go back to SA. He hasn't proven he is a gun. The Lions will ask for a lot to get him. Shiel should be our target. Already a gun, turning into a jet.

List Mgmt. Collingwood Trade Talk 2015

I I said realistic. Signs are good that Shiel wants to come back to Vic. Not sure about Treloar. Your not going to get Danger, Mcarthy and Treloar. But realistically we are a chance to get Shiel because he looks like he is going to request a trade to a Vic club. We need to put ourselves at the...

List Mgmt. Collingwood Trade Talk 2015

Age wise Shiel is perfect to come through with the current list. He is a gun. He has everything we need in a midfielder. And after his comments last week about missing home, I think he is going to come back to a Vic club. We need to make a play for someone that is realistic. I don't think there...

I think we need to offer Dylan Shiel a Tom Boyd style deal. He will be worth it. Absolute jet.

    Analysis Post match Discussion

It was just a preseason game, but that being said a 44 point win is so much better than any type of lose. We all would have been dissappointed if we were here posting about a lose and a poor performance. It's amazing how we all watch the same game and yet have such differing opinions. The Adams...

Who do we take with pick 5? CLOSING SOON please move discussion to new thread

I think Hine would have his eye on a player he really rates. A player he knows will be available at pick 5. He would know already who he wants. My guess is he will take Laverde. I think he is the type of player we need. I have only seen his highlights and read as much as I can about him, so my...

Mega Thread Dayne Beams trade (Its over, thread closed)

If Joel Patful want to go to Sydney. Maybe they can trade him to GWS. We could use this trade as part of the Beams deal. Maybe Beams to Bris. Patful to GWS. Pick 4 and O'Rourke to Coll. Maybe we would have to add our 3rd round pick to GWS. We get pick 4 and O'Rourke. Bris get Beams. GWS get...

Clark would be a good get. Especially if we could get him via a trade for Harry. Talented key position forwards that throw themselves at the contest don't come around that often. He has a real crack at the ball when it's in the air and on the ground. There is always a risk it might not work out...

W Would you take Watts for him. Might be all we get. Or their third round pick. I think he is worth it. I'm not sure about Watts.

Roos obviously thinks he has some value. He was quick to organize a catch up with him to discuss where he is at. The story only just broke and they were having coffee.

Premiership player. All Australian. When a player changes clubs they usually have a couple of big seasons. If we don't get something good. We will regret him leaving and then performing at a high level elsewhere. Roos has a good history of getting the best out of recycled player. Picking up...

Hypothetically, if Melbourne get an extra pick for frawley. And we don't have to use pick 8 for Moore. I could see Melbourne agreeing to Harry and pick 9, in exchange for pick 3. They will end up still having pick 2, pick 9 and they get Harry. We get pick 3, can take the third best available.

List Mgmt. Collingwood's 2014 Draft - Targets and Strategy (confirmed, we finished 11th)

I think it could go either way. I don't think it just depends on clubs rating him somewhere between 1-7. Carlton's 1-7 could be completely different to the bulldogs 1-7. The player that Carlton rates as 2 could be bulldogs 6 and there for Carlton's 2nd rated player could be available at there...

Review Positives - Round 19 vs Port Adelaide.

I think the biggest positive is how different today's team will potentially look, from the team that lines up for round 1 next year. Let's assume all players are fit and have had a preseason ( I understand this won't happen, but I have my fingers crossed ). The list of players that could come...

Great post. Well said. I hope everyone at the club is spending all their time trying to sort out what's going wrong down there.

    Toast The Selection Committee

How can they have Kennedy as the sub. How can you justify dropping Keeffe. They should be choosing players on their ability to kick and with a view to the future. Play broomhead every week, even if he is not ready at least he can hit a target. I'm not a big fan of Armstrong, but play him he can...

Player Watch Dane Swan (Retired 2016)

I'm with ya. I didn't think he was that bad today. Let's put it in perspective, Dane Swan at 29 years of age playing the way he is, is the least of our worries.
