My memory doesn't extend beyond the past year so I'm overlooking years worth here, but Thylacine60's description of the mods offices was a great piece of creative writing.
Wouldn't mind seeing Gibbs take it at all. I think Murph showed brilliant leadership in the second half of the season but I also think he would have a better end to his career by focusing just on his footy.
Gibbs I can see stepping up in the role. I recall he worked a lot with Cripps last year...
I've felt it, many years. You may recall the vibe last year was the reason Judd went around again, I take more stock in that then the aforementioned examples. That's not to say the vibe isn't fantastic, let's just not pretend we've never been here before.
I'm not hung up on any one point, but I...
No more so than:
We've had many years over the last 10 start just as positive. All new coaches bring about positivity within the group - Bolton's ability to maintain a positive and united group, amidst the next few years of poor results is the key, and yet to be seen.
Is that Robinson, Garlett...
We have Tuohy, Curnow, Everitt, Gibbs and Kreuzer born in '89 and then Jones, Tutt, Whiley, Casboult born in the following three years between '90-'92.
We need to replenish our senior stocks if we're to have a balanced list come time of our next charge, as this age group could certainly be a...
6 months ago we were criticising Malthouse for trading our talented forwards and bringing in recycled reserves players. Now we're praising SOS for, trading our talented forwards and bringing in recycled reserves players.
We've also criticised the club for holding onto guys for too long - sort...
Those 5% discounts look embarrassing next to the full price - but i quite like the hood, and would have thought the jacket has appeal to some.
Actually the hoody is pretty cheap, might get one. Thanks :)
Not sure how it matters even if it were - he's still a F/S selection, clubs should be reaching at times as well as be accepting the bargains otherwise, why have the rule.
Meanwhile GWS casually pick up 3 guys in the top 16 to go with their 3 top 10 picks last year. Pretty ridiculous they're still stockpiling all this young talent.
8 of the last 10 AA FB/CHBs were top 20 picks - if it were that easy to find quality at later picks Rowe wouldn't be running around with us.
Which quality KPDs have been traded for cheaply? Don't assume Hawks success at attracting players will mean we can plug holes at will. Buddy and...
Even a slide from 3 to 8 isnt exactly huge nor unheard of. We may have put more work into other players based on likelihood of who would be available, but surely we've done enough work on those higher rated guys that taking the slider becomes a no brainer.
Given this would have been on the cards, I would have liked the Menzel trade to have included a late swap of pick 11 and 9 provided we secured it. Likely makes no difference to them anyway but means we're not needing to second guess our picks based on who is more likely to get past them.
Wasn't last years the same though? McCartin and Petracca not set, and then most of the top 20 being largely interchangeable (Laverde and Boekhorst being top 10 prospects for instance).
Easy enough to do that without naming people and the inference that will then draw. If Martin makes a comment on Cripps then we are on here agreeing with Gaze that he should pull his head in - better to not make those comments at all, and my first reaction also was he needs to be better than...
Yeah I hope we don't. How often do we see successful teams do this - great if they can plug a hole when injury hits, or if a match up is destroying us. But third talls switching, why, where's the long term benefit?
Hopefully that experiment left with Lachie.
Early days but with so many new faces is it evident that the group are more vocal? It's been a criticism for a number of years - not sure if it is limited to game day or has been an issue at training also.
With Giles and Holman only getting an extra 12 months, they'd want to be showing decent improvement given they currently may not be rated by Bolton/SOS.
On this, curious as to what would be due process? Presumably the best candidates would already be heading up a clubs list, how do you attract them in an open process? Once you've identified a preferred candidate how do you approach them? Freo poached a coach and it took them to the grand - was...
Where does Trigg suggest the purpose of the meeting was to seek a bailout? I daresay our wealthy supporters bring with them skills, contacts, opportunities and ideas that may actually help the club improve its position/stand on its own two feet.
If Menzel's stats as a third year player were a concern, what does that say about our future prospects given none of the 6 guys brought in have any better stats for their positions. That, despite 5 of them having been in the system up to an extra 2 years.
In two seasons we've brought in Jones...
