In her phantom draft when discussing Melbourne's first pick, Emma Quayle mentioned that Melbourne organised a meeting with Milera late Monday. If they did pick Milera then another player would be available at our pick, Weideman would be awesome

My final wishlist.

Weitering
Curnow
Gresham
Cuningham
Glass-mcCasker (no sos bid)
SOS
Jesse Glass-McCasker sounds like a long term project I think... if he was there and we took him at 59, there isnt any pressure on him really to get out and do stuff straight away. But at 198cm and 95Kg, he sounds like another ready made player to me.

Weitering @1 Gun key defender. Also has all the tool to be the most dominate key forward of his draft class. Love the sound the ball makes when he clunks his marks, sounds like the ball is going to pop.
I'm pretty sure he could take those marks at either end of the ground. Also has a good footy IQ which helps with playing muiltpul positions.
Jeremy Cameron was drafted by SOS as CHB who could occasional swing forward. He even played in the back line for around half of his first year of AFL.
Weitering moves a lot like a young Jermey Cameron IMO.

After our first pick it gets hard. The pros and cons of the next 15-20 prospects makes things very tricky.
Charlie Curnow looks likely to be available. WTF was going through his head possibly drink driving 3 days out from the draft.
He is only young so he will obliviously change as he matures, you would hope.
McKay is the scary one because his 200cm and has a late birthdate. If he grows another couple of cm's he becomes more Ruckman size. So how will he go playing as a key forward at that height?
Weideman may also still be on the board. He would be my preferred option out of the key forwards.

Collins at our 3rd pick could be the smart play. He is a man child but at least his ready made and he also frees up Weitering to play other roles.
We take 3 key position players with our first 3 picks + Jack SOS
Then we can go hard for mids in next years draft. Which looks like having more top end midfield talent then this year draft.

With our 4th pick I'd be happy for us to either gamble on a player with massive up side someone like Daniel Rioli Ryan Burton or even David Cunningham.
Or take someone who slid a bit on draft day. Someone like Darcy Tucker Harley Balic or Riley Bonner.
Be happy with any of those players above at this pick.

Andy McKay said that we formulated a draft strategy at the start of the year. Part one of a 3 year strategy. Just makes me think we are targeting KPPs so they are ready to go when we start to compete again.
My thinking exactly... I reckon our KPP this year, next year consolidate with some mids and a couple more talls and the year after try and get a couple of serious A grade quality players.

And then in 2018... we get Ben.

Just watched the AFL Draft video of Cuningham. Is it just me or does he have a bit of Chris Judd about him - real burst of speed and even kicks like him.
That break away from the centre square and goal was Judd in his prime. Pretty decent highlights.

Please no curnow or McKay bros, I don't see much to get excited about with these guys other than their size.
We need to take the best PLAYERS
Let's start by locking down our back line first please SOS

Collins
Then take whoever the hell you want would love to take rioli just to piss Richmond off
Youre surely trolling now? Claims to want the best players; yet advocates a 100kg full back who has question marks over whether his fitness, agility and speed will transfer over to AFL football OVER a competitive, athletic and skilled FOOTBALLER like Curnow.

Please if you dont think Curnow is a player then go do some more research. There's a reason he's touted as going as high as #3

Curnow as the Darling/Stringer forward is the right idea.

3rd tall forward that is too strong for an average half back flanker... but too athletic for a genuine KPD.

Either McKay or Collins is fine by me.

I wonder where we plan to play Jaksch?

Cunningham is more athlete than footballer imo based on his highlights. His disposal numbers are inconsistent. He's more someone we would pick on potential rather than output.

If with the right development could become a very damaging player with that burst speed around the stoppage ie) judd, Dangerfield, shuey.

Then again Dangerfield I'm pretty sure was seen as an athlete as a junior. And a reach at pick 10. Most phantoms had him going 20-30. Look how well that turned out

Curnow and McKay I can see being jacks of all trades but masters of none. At least Collins you lock down our defence for years as I said 14.1 beep baby the thing with curnow or the mckays they could be anything or nothing
And we can't risk the second , there should be no romance in this draft for us just clear thinking

Collins give me the impression that he is too slow for AFL and that got Matthew Watson no where despite having the best kick in the draft.
