The more I watch Scaife's clips, the more it looks like he is ready.
Literally a read-made player who does not lack in physical attributes nor skills.
The Q I have is why the club would draft such a player given Dear + Chol in good form, and Lewis as the senior forward.
There is surely not...
I haven't watched much non-Hawks footy for a few years.
He's regarded as the best in the game right now, but what impact would he have on our team?
Is he going to make a big difference in the way Brian Lake did?
This is potentially a huge unlock.
Even if he is merely introverted and only now coming into his own, that newfound confidence alone will be a. massive win for us. He seems to have a lot of untapped potential, especially in light of his late arrival to junior football.
MacKenzie and co pulled...
A fully fit Mitchell Lewis is top 3-5 KPF in the league IMO.
I saw his potential from his early games and have been patiently waiting for him to put it together over a season.
Sadly, 7 years into his career and we are still waiting for that consistency.
It's either his body, or our medical team...
Maybe to start, but he can push up the field and even help out in defence.
I am excited by this pick.
He could change a lot about our list management if he shows a bit this season..
These are great highlights with high leaping marks, which the previous clips did not include.
He does it ALL and has the kind of athleticism/strength/skills that should transfer well into AFL football.
I think we've got a very good KPF prospect who could play this season.
Amazing work by...
I'd love to see how he goes in packs.
Is he any good leaping up at the ball in a contest?
Holding his ground one on one?
I think he shows enough in his highlights to be worth a spot.
Could someone give us the background to this kid?
Why wasn't he picked up as an 18 y.o. player?
He looks every bit as good as Jed Walter in highlights.
When I watch this guy's highlights (from ONE game), and compare to Jed Walter's highlights across his underage season, I find it difficult to discern why one is a top 3 pick, and the other fell to the MSD.
Scaife's athelticism is on par, if not better than Walter's.
There's no noticeable gap in...
I floated this idea a couple of months ago and have since been locked out of the Mitchell Lewis thread.
Lewis is a risk given his injury history, which is what also makes him a trade opportunity.
Probably also means Ramsden isn't close to the required level, yet.
Scaife looks solid.
Good...
I don't know wtf North are doing over there to be winless still.
They've been in the bottom 2 for the fifth year in a row now, and still nowhere near it.
Rubbbish.
Accountability is good.
You’re having a sook.
“Not very far advanced” on last season.
Not sure what you were expecting.
We’re well ahead imo.
Hopefully we see a better balanced and more endurable athlete.
He could well take his game to another level if he got some continuity and built on his form/confidence.
Hardly a blinding insight you're offering here.
We are a team in the development stage, a 2-3 years away from contention.
I would've thought the honest thing to do was to own it and admit you were overly pessimistic earlier in the season.
It has proven to be the case.
Some people want to sink...
We will be contending in 2-3 years and Hill will be just about the same age I.Smith was when he went to Geelong, who could have played for another year or two.
We've got some great kicks in this team.
Add Hill to Weddle's running power and it's almost like our three-peat era.
We will tear teams...
He is better than all of them as a winger, and they just might learn a thing or two from him.
There's plenty of room in the rotation when you have half the team running up and down 3/4 of the ground.
Just my two cents - Brad Hill is a proven winner and you take those players for the right price.
I'd take B. Hill back in a heartbeat, just depends on the contract and trade value.
Anybody saying they wouldn't want him in our team bc he chose the Saints is being petty and vindictive.
If Sam and Rough want him back, then it's good enough for me.
We could get another 5-6 years of good form...
Rayner has not shown any ability to play as a mid/fwd like some people hope.
6 years in the system - the time is long gone when 1-2 more pre-seasons gave people hope.
He is what he has already shown.
Unlikely to become anything more than a small/med forward.
It is far easier to find someone who can play in defence than it is to find someone who can play as a proper forward.
I hope we don't mess with Dear and just play him forward.
Dear has been excellent.
Roughead also lined up as a KPF on his debut and I distinctly recall him and Buddy as the 2 KP forwards against Brisbane in Roughead's second game.
It stays in my memory bc the defenders got a surprise when they tried to get physical with Roughead and he put one of them...
