Sorry for dragging these posts up, I only check this board once a week to see what's going on. One of the great things about AFL and sports, is that in a year you can shut everyone up.
Horse has the chance to shut everyone up next year, and I hope he takes it. My money is that he fails.
Ok, assuming this is directed towards me.
This is no free swing, we're supporters, we aren't Horse's friend, we're his clients.
If I had a friend going through what Horse is, 100% I've got his back, but as client of the football club, I want what's best for the club ahead of what's best for...
Why is it denigrating to put guys that have tried their whole life. I think that trying your hardest to become an AFL player, only to fall short, is nothing wrong, nothing to denigrate, in fact, I respect them deeply. So I see it as a compliment to put Horse in with all the other guys I...
We all do, but I also loved Jordan Foote, Towers, Ling, Clarke, and Rankin (well that's more Caesar).
Not being good enough is okay in a competitive sport, you can be a really great bloke, but if your not good enough, your not good enough, and right now Horse has shown he's not good enough, 4...
I just can't fight the feeling that Brisbane deserved to win, not only in terms of ability, but in terms of culture.
Imo, a coaches main job is player management, and I always thought that was Horse's strong point, but after watching the team capitulate again and again, and after hearing about...
I know, I try to be more level headed, but I just feel that the way the team is headed isn't the best. I hear a lot of people talking about winning, and how good Horse is at it, but we've seen with Melbourne that winning can cover up a bad culture. I would rather a good culture with losses, than...
Tbh, if Horse is still coaching next year, I'm going to take a hiatus as a supporter. I'll still keep up to date, and lurk, but I don't know if I will be able to watch games knowing he's in charge.
With hearing how our team has acted before and during the grand final, I think he's leadership...
I think the future is the groundball. Winning the groundball all around the game is what rocketed Hawthorn up the ladder, and contributes to pressure as you always have players around the ball.
I agree with everyone, ditch the three talls, go small, and don't look back.
The way we played we would of lost to most teams in the comp tbh. We had no pressure.
You say a grand final match up that suits us. What match up? We lost against Hawthorn by a massive margin with arguably a better team than the team we won with 2 years prior, then we lose against bulldogs...
I do have a question for people defending Horse, and this is an actual question, not meant to be harsh.
How many grand final beltings would convince you that Longmire isn't the coach?
100% genuine question, I'm interested to see what people.
Yeah, it's not life or death, but the question arises, why should we continue to support a side that doesn't have a chance at winning? It's just self sabotage at that point.
Yeah, I'm done with this bloke. Don't care about making grandfinals if we lose by a massive margin every single time. Doesn't even keep it respectable.
I think this might be a slight sign a survivor bias. It makes sense that all the clubs that have a been around the top for the last half a decade to a decade keep their coaches.
