Feel if they swapped the red and blue around on the collar and cuffs (i.e blue cuffs, blue neckline and red collar), this would have been a ripper but it would have been the same as 1925 jumper. I assume they will replicate that for the Round 2 game and is the reason why they didn’t go with...
Looks like the dogs will return to red collars (toilet seat gone) and cuffs on the home jumper with the V/AFL logo, and a return to the 2016 clash jumper.
Not sure if it does translate across codes but that looks similar to the T20 Australian shirts. Fingers crossed it does and we've gone red with blue.

Hope the fact Darcy is wearing the same as this years' jumper doesn't mean we're stuck with the toilet lid for another season. Although Asics have a history of updating the collar after two seasons, it would seem odd if this photo-op didn't include next year's kit.
The only thing I dislike is the fact it doesn't specify 100 years in the V/AFL like the Bulldogs' one. Looks like the club was formed in 1925 rather than 1902.
Mero is a legend.
If anyone is interested, you can find out about our jumper history on my site too by visiting https://www.rwbthreads.com/ or following RWB_Threads on Instagram
My predictions/want for our uniforms in 2025. Would love to see a 3rd red kit based on the 1898-1900 jumper but doesn't fit with the 100 years in the V/AFL theme. Hope Asics come up with a better collar given they change it every two years.
Hi Mero -
Doing some research for another project and came across this article from October 1997 and realised that the 1997 Western Bulldogs jumper didn't include the F.F.C. above the number, as listed on footyjumpers.com.
I've always liked the AFL W logo and thought the AFL competition should have a similar logo for consistency. Based on the A in AFL (like the 90s and prior with the V), here's something I've been playing with on and off. Not happy with it so a lot of refining to go.
Had a crack at this. Noticed the plane on their logo aligned with the bomber/strike aircraft the Air Force operates at the time of the logo was released (the mirage in the 1970s logo and the F-111 in the current logo). Following that, I decided to base it on the F-35 which currently plays the...
While the MCC argument and proximity to Olympic Park makes sense if it's going to be used for things other than Footy but if the AFL own and operate, let's be real that the main two clubs who would use the smaller stadium will be North and the Bulldogs. Having to get across town for our two H&A...
A bit of a work-in-progress and very far from finished with a lot of refining needed.
Given the AFLW logo is based on the goal post, figured the AFL might want similar for the Men’s comp and bring consistency between the two.
I've actually also been working on a new dogs' logo, this one based on the traditional logo. Still editing and refining but getting there. Not sure which flag to go with.
The Inspo:
One last crack from me. Nothing says America more than stars and Red, White and.... Black. I was playing around with a few options but wouldn't meet the clash policy.
Beveridge, when thanking Sponsors at the B&F, said Pedigree would no longer be the sponsor of the coaches. Wonder if that means they'll also not be the above the number jumper too.
I've been a tad more liberal with the dogs'. I feel this years' clash is saveable if worn with blue shorts. As Dogs' fans, I know we hated the inverse red strip of the hoops because we never won an actual match it in so I've gone with the 1898-1900 jumper they wore in the VFA and won a...
I really struggled with the Eagles’ Alternate so have adopted a white version of their traditional winged jumper. Eagles’ fans, I would love to hear some suggestions because I was dumbstruck.
Away vs: Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, GWS, Melbourne, North Melbourne, Port...
I think I would prefer the old Souths jumper as the home rather than away but that’s just me. I have gone with blue which was used by South Melbourne in the 1870s. It’s also a nice tribute to the harbour.
Away vs: Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Gold Coast...
I enjoyed doing St Kilda’s as I got to use jumpers from different eras. The Home is their current home strip but the away is based off their 1906-1909 strip and well you can’t go passed this year’s red strip for the alternate. I reckon Saints’ fans would be happy for that to be worn more often...
Richmond’s Home and Away is too easy given the yellow jumper’s recent history. I’ve adopted Richmond’s 1885 jumper with a brighter blue for their alternate kit. I should give a shout out to Mero as FootyJumpers.com provided a huge heap on other clubs’ history.
Away vs: Adelaide, Brisbane...
Port is self-explanatory but think I’ve seen another designer on here with a similar alternate kit (sorry, I can’t remember who to give them their due credit) - looks too good not to use, especially paying homage to a magpie's wing. Port's away and alternate could be worn against most clubs...
