Its disappointing the final home and away game is at Subiaco...hopefully the dons can make the finals by beating the Eagles away, sheeds may give one final jacket waving salute to the Eagles fans.
Then they can meet collingwood first week and knock them out...then west coast and knock them...
Re: Official GVFL thread
Bit unlucky for Hooper, the Seymour players would have worn more saliva when steve daniel was coach than you could poke a stick at. Daniel should have got life if Hooper got 2 weeks.
As for Barnsy (Barnett), he probably did Hooper no favours. Ah well. Swans would be...
Was speaking to a certain doctor of Seymour who suggested if Seymour were to make the grandfinal then a certain son of his will be back in town. although i have heard he isn't keen to play, yet the committee is keen for him to play...if they make it.
Might be a bit tough if they're good...
Don't make excuses, you seem very good at that...bad umpiring decisions, someone has a mate here, someone doesn't like you...not the attitude of a guy who would be able to stick through a tough innings.
And as for being a kid. Xub and trav do act like kids, but you can barely call them kids...
Roota, thats the spirit mate, i saw a few balls early on in the one day final. Seymour will be in with a big chance if you can continue the form.
Don't worry about Royals, they are full of puss. Just a bunch of complete losers. A place where the tommy stevens' of this world fits right in, and...
Although i reckon since the missus entered into Dilly's life, he has become a little more bitter a little easier. He sparks up a lot quicker these days.
The characters which made the saturday night cricket rooms a hit have moved on in life. Its a real shame. Maybe there will be a few around...
Re: Official GVFL thread
Well the SFNC can now remove the tint off the window now you've left seymour...the shinning glare off your bald head on a sunny day used to force supporters to buy a membership and a set of sunglasses.
SJ will go by himself you'd expect. He won't take anyone...
Anyone know how the Bendigo squad is shaping up? Will they be any chance to make the final...or win it next week?
I see Hager crafted a 50 odd n.o again on the weekend. The old timer is pushing his way to a league batting average. A few more not outs and he'll be right in the mix.
Tallarook...
They will be, but it seems that Bendigo CW is a little more appealing to the players of the SDCA being a little closer to home.
Word is Trav Blackwell is a good chance of playing Bendigo, with the champ to take the reigns as skipper. His team mate in Robbie Douglas will join him for the...
Div 1 apparently is out...but i saw the draw which has all div's playing in Bendigo.
Hey Roota, you should play for the mighty SDCA. Started Div 4 3 years ago...Div 2 now, the addition to you to what i hear is going to be a pretty competitive squad and the mour could be in div 1 in 2008...
Heard that SDCA will host the provincial division of Melbourne CW this year. With melbourne CW going into the country, SDCA will go to warnambool for the week. I believe div 3.
Anyone know who has expressed interest in bendigo cw? I was told that Div 1 Bendigo CW will be played in Swan Hill...
Re: Official GVFL thread
Heard along the grapevine a couple of things...SJD is very close to pulling Gerard Liddell to cairns. Got him a job, etc. Would mean Brendan will definitely not play, you would expect Damien to pull the pin also. Which other Seymour players has he approached????
As...
Geez, you'd almost have to say pick 1 and 2...D*ick Martin would be 3rd pick to open your attack, along with Gerry Hanson. One Jason Tarran and maybe his brother Brett would get a gig.
Doona, HJ and Grandale would probably best suited to put the best side of the past 20-25 years in the SDCA...
Seems to be a few big scores getting around the SDCA at the minute. Seems kings park is a batsmans paradise. Runs scored there every week. Flat decks, minimal sideways movement that keep low on a super quick oval...thats what its all about.
Congrats to hager. What would he have to do to...
Re: Official GVFL thread
Rattray to stay at Lions. Seymour WILL NOT clear him for reasons undisclosed but thinking it has something to do with the Bendigo Bombers saga at the start of last season.
Be very supprised if Papa's, Lane and Rudd jumped ship. Think you'll find if they play at all...
Quick as ever??? Dundon is hardly bowls lightning bolts. Bowls at good pace, but still think Allum is more acurate, and he has the one thing every fast bowler needs, C*U*N*T. Dundon doesn't seem to have any killer instinct in him, until he gets it he will bowl powder puffs that pose no danger to...
Lachy atkins has never made a run in association cricket. How old is he?
Pretty sure Zub is back playing now? Think he played for Seymour A grade last weekend, if im not wrong?
Have to disagree with you there. Agree Mumfy has Allum covered with the bat, not Dundon. Allum as a lower order batsman can stick around, he can also have a go. His technique isn't all that flash, but it seems to be affective. In either situation, quick runs or hanging around.
Either way...
Fair point, that line up would have been pretty handy on the weekend, lots of bowling options there. Would have Allum in infront of mumford though. Mumfy is getting on now. And Allum is a pretty accurate quick. There are enough mediums in Hinns, Tarran, Peterson, and Douglas.
Will be...
Don't forget Mark Nicholls from yea, man can play. Would also rate Xavier Youngman above Jac Smith-Williams at this stage, in those games, not sure if young Jac is up to making a big score under pressure. Zubby probably could. Jac will become a very good bat.
Doona what would be your best 11...
I was in the outer having a bit of a squiz throughout the day.
I was speaking to one player who said he was threatened with suspension if he didn't play. It seemed a bit unfair that he was given that treatment when the likes of Pearce, Hinns and J. Tarran were last minute pull outs and weren't...
Word getting around is Seymour put up a pretty good show yesteday, Shepparton were without many of their stars. The to Gledhill boys and Hampshire pulled out on Saturday which left Shepp with a second string bowling attack.
Seymour batted first and were reeling at 4-20 odd. A handy 5th wicket...
- Kilmore announces massive new sponsorship deal: Jenny Craig sponsors the loss of a 1000kgs from kilmore A grade players.

Re: Official GVFL thread
A few players leaving would open the doorway for the Urple to run around in the forward pocket and snag some majors in the ones maybe?
