I’m with Crackers65 here.
Is there a point to your post hairy biker?
Throwing up an irrelevant past player’s dad’s opinion (adding nothing yourself) is just being a bore.
Star defender Jake Lever also won't return to full training until the end of next month as he continues his recovery from post-season knee and shoulder surgery.
The 28-year-old is back running, but his shoulder rehab means he won't start contact training until the end of January.
Ok, so the death riding Melbourne pre season has:
1. Oliver looking unfit / uninterested GOOD
2. Petracca with a point to prove BAD
3. Melbourne 2025 draw was rated as good BAD
4. Oliver looking fit and engaged BAD
5. Gawn injury GOOD
Some may say too early… some may say that sounds more...
For my boy Cox, I still feel he’s part of the discussion based upon “potential”
Totally agree until he gets a role and makes it his (with performance) and dominates he’s no where near elite.
Good prompt. Just had a relisten too.
My key take aways:
Board alignment
Andrew Walsh is a “great mate” emphasised repeatedly
Supportive of current board
calls himself “independent”
Cultural focus
Works as a collaborator
Agenda
Aligned to board’s “No sugar hits” repeated a few times
Plan...
As resident moderator here -
This is pretty compelling -
Based upon the literal (best 22 in year 1)… injury means that was never possible…
But less literal… he wasn’t beat 22 in year 2 either (no injury).
If he’s not best by season end I think it’s pretty fair to call it disappointing...
Agree this is one of the really interesting conundrums.
Are we in a development year - might accept going in a bit lopsided if it helps development… put Draper forward with 2MP whilst Bryan develops around the ground.
If we’re going for wins - those 3 are surely too tall? I think the ideal is...
Where’s the love for big Cox?
Nik “Potential” Cox.
Unicorn.
Let’s put to bed the KPD guff, he’ll never be a big framed hold your ground monster.
What he has
Can cover a lot of ground
Great reach
Goes off both pegs
Competitive enough… still building that
What he needs
Right role & more...
Sheeds was being the club’s 20 year “constipation”*.
* Sheedy is still one of my most admired club legends. Just not in a C post coaching board room way.
Surely this kicks off the annual “training with caps on” debate… this year, they’re wearing those poker player versions that don’t have lids.
Let me start -
They should train how they’ll play… you don’t wear caps on game day.
Non professional.
Amateur hour stuff.
When will we go professional?
I thought I was the only one allowed to make fuzzy logic statements about how changes in personnel will impact scores (especially relating to missing Stringer’s 42 goals)?
Maybe stay in your lane…
