Like many, I'm looking to upgrade Greene.
Looking at either Watson or Selwood as the two best options (I'm just shy of the cash for Thompson).
Selwood is cheaper, more proven historically and has probably scored better on average this year, minus the game he got injured.
I thought that Watson...
Re: Player X v Player Y
So, I'm trading out Shiel, and I'm not sure whether to get on McDonald (GWS) or just go straight for Mitchell. I can afford it.
If I go for McDonald, I would have alot of cash sitting in the bank ($320k) and that means that next round I can do a couple of up trades...
Is it worth trading out Martin?
I think I'm going to keep Fyfe unless I hear anything, but Martin seems to be highly under-performing. I could do a swap for Robinson or Sidebottom, surely it would produce more points and at the moment it's almost a straight swap, but the question is, is it...
Lake --> Mackie, Waters, Goddard or someone else?
To get Goddard, I'd have to do another trade, Coniglio > Mcdonald maybe.
I already have Birchall, Shaw, Deledio and Broughton.
I'm thinking Mackie will score well enough and might even beat his average last year which makes my dollars better...
Thanks for that insight friend :)
I was thinking with Gia that he has been very consistent for a few years now, but I'm not totally sure about him...
What do you think of the Hurley pick? I'm trying not to be biased, but I genuinely feel his scores will improve and he's already been fairly...
Hey guys,
been out of the game for a few years, would really love some thoughts! Even just quick comments would be great.
Def:
Goddard, Deledio, Birchall, Broughton, Lake, Hargrave, Ellis, (Bugg, S. Morris)
Mid:
Pendlebury, Ablett, Selwood, Corey, Coniglio, Magner (C. Smith, D. Shiel)
Ruck...
I wasn't at the game, so I can only go off what I saw on TV. But, having watched and re-watched, and as the commentators point out, you can't tell whether it either did or didn't touch either the post or Fletcher's hand. Certainly looks unlikely, but at best you can say it's unclear.
My point...
Haha. Thankfully on these boards there tend to be people who'll defend anyone associated with this list. It's good because it means there are no cheap shots. Any successful criticism must be well supported and logically explained. That's how criticism should be.
Amen.
It seems the OP thinks the "suprise factor" is more important than playing the best team available. Perhaps we should've found a way to get Bock into the ruck? That would've suprised the hell out of them, they would've been screwed.
Stupid Knights, crap coach, not thinking of that Bock...
A team coming close to winning doesn't mean that you don't take out the ones who under-performed. Especially if people at Bendigo are banging on the door. It's not just "we were a good team this week so let's keep it at that." If there are changes to improve your team of course you take them.
You seem so close to exploding, maybe this will do it:

Ignore the rest of the sentence that follows though. Also, no offence intended mate in case you take it the wrong way. I just thought it was funny that you were...
True, but surely an individual player is gonna get better stats getting all the delivery than when the mids have got lots of other options to kick to. Especially when those other options are performing well and seem much safer options. And even then, alot of the time the mids didn't need to go...
I realise I'm on your board, so I don't wanna push my luck here (unless you guys are comfortable with it, you have always seemed like one of the more reasonable boards. Actually really quite hospitable in the past, but that's another discussion.)
I'll leave it at saying that even guys on your...
Plenty of promising signs after only 15 games means that even in terrible games like last night, we can still be confident in them. Jack should be inspiring confidence for you, I'm certainly supportive of that. Was perhaps a bit fortunate to be playing on Pears in the state he was in, and that...
Well, Hurley was playing as a swing man, so can't quite be put in the same boat as Gumby. 21 Disposals, 7 marks and a goal for someone who spent a bit of time down back is not that soundly beaten. Gumby definitely had a shocker.
Criticism is definitely deserved for last night. Hurley has been...
Dunno man, he was holding it in both hands, and had it punched out. Maybe if it hadn't been punched out he might have fumbled it or something and it wouldn't have been paid. You would think it's a bit rough for him to have both hands gripping it, someone to punch it out, and get nothing for it.
Glad to see someone with a bit more level headedness, you should be a mod or something. ;) All this "it could have been a 10 point game" is a bit ridiculous.
If you only looked at the first free kick and the first goal which were both outlined above, and were both undeniably wrongly paid frees...
Wow, surprised to read this. I was filthy about it too, but the other way. I thought that the more blatant ones were paid in your favour, and that we couldn't catch a break.
Not saying you guys are wrong or anything, just a bit suprised.
Completely agree :)
Again, completely agree.
This came up on the Bombers board a little while ago, and there was almost unanimity that we need to get a proper clash strip. I get the feeling that rather than hold a referendum to change the contitution, the Bombers are just waiting for the AFL...
You probably already know, but just thought I'd mention that it's part of Essendon's constitution to wear a black jersey with red sash. As far as I know, the only way we could wear something different is if we had a vote and agreed to change the constitution, or if the AFL forced us to.
Doesn't...
Okay, then he "gets up and walks off" as soon as Lloyd ducks out of being pinned, looking over his shoulder the whole time and still scurries along the ground quite hurredly. Mate, you can stop trying to spin what we can all see on film.
Was referring to the bitch slapping of Monfries when he...
A clear example of completely blind bias. Astonishing.
Skipworth, for at least the first half of the year, was one of the most reliable members of our squad in terms of skill, decision making, commitment and leadership.
Give him some credit, or at very least, stop your stubbornly ignorant...
If you were told our 08 best and fairest would be out for most of the season, our 2 experienced forwards would under-perform (especially Lucas), and many other senior players would either play under injury or sit out for extended periods, I think that even if you weren't expecting bottom 4, you...
