Re: Dangerfield - rotator cuff?
He is going to have further scans tomorrow though .. makes me think there could be a few other issues, ie muscular or perhaps shoulder issues.
Re: Dangerfield - rotator cuff?
Danger had scans and has been cleared of any fractures. He is staying overnight in hospital though, under observation. Good news it seems.
Ah yes ... Phil Davis on the back page of the paper with the caption "Phil Davis pictured during warm up at Max Basheer reserve yesterday" ... and yet that same photo was used a couple of weeks ago?!?!
Employing from within is the way good businesses operate. Staffers should always get first crack at any position that opens up.
Giving employees a career path keeps them motivated, and gives individuals a reason to remain loyal to a company.
And the employer already knows they can trust the...
Have really been loving the Reds this year.
I wouldn't read much into that low crowd for the Prelim. Reds V Roar is never a blockbuster, even if it's a final.
Also having an affect is the fact that now A-League and AFL seasons are beginning to overlap (pre-season I know, but still).
But...
This season Nick Nat has grown from his listed 197cm, and is now a massive 201cm ... with his leap, no one will go close to him at ruck contests. Nick Nat for me.
Douglas - will become a genuine quality small forward in my view, I see him becoming Didak-like if he can improve his goal kicking. I don't think he'll develop into a genuine midfielder, and I think that will suit us fine.
Jacky - Small forward is his position. The way the modern game has...
I could not believe how bad it was.
"Vince (Mackay), kicks long to Mackay (van Berlo), gives off the handball to van Berlo (Vince)". Any chance of them getting the right name? Or at least even noticing that they were getting it wrong?
Jakovich and Shaw just don't stop nattering. They just...
Depending on what he does. If he takes a year off ... then he's more likely still get paid. But if he retires he terminates/breaches his own contract and would not get paid!
Biggles will be in ahead of Griff or Maric ... but my main issue is the lack of speed in the forward line. Therefore I want to see Johncock in a pocket - not only for speed but he knows where the goals are and he his skills are great. Symes should take his place in the back pocket and I think...
Re: Welsh gone
My forward line:
FP: JOHNCOCK/PORPLYZIA FF: MCGREGOR FP: VINCE/THOMPSON
HFF: BURTON CHF: HENTSCHEL/TIPPETT HFF: GILL
Johncock a must to play up forward, as without Welsh we are VERY short on pace.
I don't think it was as simple as that. It kinda helped your cause when Judd came out and said "I am leaving West Coast, I want to move back to Melbourne, and I'll either play for Richmond, Melbourne, Collingwood or Carlton thanks."
I don't remember Rutten, or anyone else, saying anything similar?
Impressive research and numbers by my oh my what a beat up! I am not disputing that we have the oldest list in the AFL. But I am saying that it isn't as big a deal as people like yourself make it out to be. As I said, our issue is not old age, our issue is genuine talent.
From memory our average age is 24. That is not old. This issue isn't age, the issue is not having the gun, quality, premiership winning players in that 26 - 29 age bracket - as you said. But that is not an age problem as such; the guys in that age bracket aren't "too old" to play footy - it is a...
For us, it would be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Yes, we'd like a gun forward (and part-time midfielder), but to trade Knights leaves us with a massive hole in our midfield of the future. In fact, I'd be looking for another young, hardrunning midfielder before I looked at a forward. We have...
Good work. Also worth keeping in mind that after draft day you bring in another group of 17-21 year old kids that will drag that average age of the list down further. I reckon all the talk of us having an "old list" is grossly overrated.
I agree, too much emphasis is placed on how many touches a bloke gets - more nowadays than ever, because so many people have fantasy football/dream teams! If a bloke doesn't rack up the numbers for their team, more often or not they don't rate his performance.
That's not a quote from the coach. He said the club is interested, which obviously we are, but obviously it depends on what you blokes (who are known for overrating your own players, refer to this thread as an example) want for him. For the full press conference, not the "journalistic license"...
Haha yeah good point idiot. This is one of the most hilarious posts I've read. You clown. Call it what you like, make all the rambling excuses you like, you weren't good enough to beat it. And for a game that was so badly ruined by flooding, there was 44 scoring shots - which is hardly slow...
