The gaps not that big at the moment between the gv and murray league. Echuca won't drop off the perch anytime soon, I think Moama is growing at such a rate they can play with the big boys now. They are ready for the gv or bendigo leagues
I did hear on the grapevine today, although not central murray related, bur it shows how much money is been thrown around by some clubs in the state that Garry rohan is on between 80-90k for the season at Port fairy in the hampden league
An easy gig, cmon mixer.
Not sure I ever said it was an easy gig mate, but there's many ways to skin an orange and I personally would have tried a different way
Come august I could have egg on my face if the raiders are top 3 and I'll wear it and admit I was wrong
The nyah gig would be most appealing next year wouldn't it, they've retained their core list, inner belief is high
I'd think the boga job with a 5 year plan with horse like succession plan would be the most enticing, due to their junior numbers or the raiders
I'm surprised a bfl club wasn't keen, kangaroo flat would love a guy that can kick a bag. Would you guys ever have him back? Or are he's on field actions that bad?
Respectfully disagree, Kerang had a meeting in 2000 to work out how they'd move forward, 4 years later they are holding up the cup. Maffra a similar sized town in Gippsland, used to recruit big name players and hadn't won a flag in a long time decided to actually invest in their locals and their...
I've got two young sons, that play Saturdays, Kerang have the last 20 years, where they stand for developing their juniors, that's 15 minutes down the road, its right in front of them. How many flags, 9 in 20 years? They invest in their locals, have senior guys help coach the thirds, they have...
It's not easy mate for sure, only one club can win the flag every year, you need a bit of luck. You also need everyone on the same page at the club and have a 2 3 or 5 year plan on what you want the club to stand for. The raiders are an interesting club, always have good talent, like they were...
No I haven't, but my grandfather played senior footy for 22 years and has the league medal in the ellinbank league named after him, my uncle was the president of the gv when they were the best league in country Victoria, another uncle was president at Benalla for 8 years winning a flag, another...
I reckon marcus should have chosen tyntynder over koondrook, I'd think he would have retained all their players leaving and still got their recruits plus a couple more.
I reckon the raiders should have thrown the kitchen sink at Kenny Sheldon
Interesting sliding doors moment
Yep you young guys may not be able to remember, but when I played seniors at kerang in 2000, we had 5 or 6 guys turn up to a training regularly on a Tuesday night and we'd have to join the thirds to train. We hadn't won a flag since the 80s and had only played in finals once in the cmfl and all...
You've gotta remember not that many people live in SA outside of Adelaide. Victoria has geelong, Ballarat Bendigo, Albury wodonga, shepp, drouin/Warragul moe/Traralgon and warrnambool with more people than Adelaide's second biggest city which is Mount Gambier.
There's a few SA players, playing in the north west of our state, I'd imagine the money is far better in country vic than south Australia. Even sanfl reserves guys would play for not much, I'm surprised gv clubs haven't looked at that instead of getting guys from the vfl and metro Melbourne...
