While Robert Harvey is definitely a right foot kick, he was also a very good left arm fast bowler, good enough to play District cricket and generally thought to have the ability to go further to Sheffield Shield.
Saw the 95 SOO game on Foxtel the other day, he had the ball on a string.
Could you please keep up? Maybe answer the question asked instead of diverting the argument along team achievement lines. You said to Falchoon "He couldnt kick as many goals". Falchoon proved otherwise.
But keep going with your subjective arguments. At least you've got Eddiesmith on your side.
Please address the question, how did Riewoldt manage 64 goals in a year whilst getting all his kicks cheaply up on a wing? His real stats were 64.26, so not only is he a booming 90 m kick, he is very accurate over that distance as well. And you want to roll eyes at me?
"Tredrea was more...
Did you miss the bit where it states Riewoldt actually outscored Tredrea last night. 3 goals 3 is a actually > than 3 goals 2.
But he was on the wing getting cheap kicks, how could that be? Well blow me down. I'm waiting for your obviously immense football brain to process that bit of info...
You are really struggling now.
Tredrea apparently "was easliy the best forward on the plark" with 9 pssessions, 6 marks and 3.2 and ripped us a new one whereas Riewoldt was ineffective with 18 possessions, 12 marks and 3.3.
Riewoldt plays too far up the ground and gets easy kicks, but...
Daryl played in the 97 GF,it was Shane who didn't make it. Shane however didn't get dropped for the GF, he didn't manage to make the side in the finals at all. So you are wrong on two counts.
3 Ball
2 Harvey
1 Montagna
In the spirit of MMM, I also submit my worst on ground.
-1 Blake - 8 kicks and all missed their target. It became predictable.
-2 Milne must take the first option, especially when he is not "on"
-3 Guerra had 1 kick all day, and that was to Ball's head...
Never has the 3 and 2 been so easy.
3 Riewoldt
2 Ball
1 Penny - to keep Neitz goalless while the rest of them had 18 odd up to the time of injury was a superb effort.
Very difficult. Hard to believe it was only 6 goals in the end. The last 3 in junk time made it respectable.
3 Ball
2 Dal Santo
1 Kosi
Was considering Maguire, but his man kicked 4 (Nicks). The rest were very ordinary, flatter than a *****carters hat
Re: Cornfalkes *IS* a idoit, pure and simple,
What , coaching the team back out to an 8 goal win. I'll take that panic attack.
Struggling, Pugs, really struggling.
3 Hayes - 37 touches , tough, hard, inspirational
2 Dal Santo - pure magic, gets the ball every time he goes near it
1 Gehrig - he should have kicked 14 - slacked off after 1/4 time
3 Jones
2 Riewoldt
1 Guerra
Special Mention:
Whoever has organised the kick in strategy. Abolsutely brilliant at times (or alternatively, shocking coaching by Worsfold not to have a strategy to combat it)
Because in '99 we finished 10 with 10 wins. Funnily enough that is exactly the same record as the Pies in 97. It's spooky.
In 98 we finished 6th with 13 wins.
Do you get it yet? Repeat after me
3 years in the bottom 3
3 years in the bottom 3
The Pies and the Saints had similar...
This is all St Kilda has had, 3 years at the bottom, in spite of all the misinformation to the contrary. One extra priority pick, X Clarke, who has barely played this year.
Very happy with the win today, Adelaide are one of those who do take it semi seriously, to win away from home under any circumstances is a positive. After all, they cared enough last year to win the bloody thing.
Today just showed how thin our key position depth is, especially down back. I...
Haven't bothered posting at all here, I'm too old and impatient to argue the toss with serial trolls. This place has gone down the tubes so much it is a real shame.
I was pleased at the start to see Goddard on Riewoldt, as it was a sign that they think he might be up to that class now, however Nick killed him.
Ball was very impressive first half before taking a rest. He looks to have filled out considerably, and is much broader across the shoulders...
Did anybody else get a flashback when the skinny kid with blond hair in the number 15 (Jason Gram ) went running downfield with the ball.
It was Frankie Coughlan all over again.
