Have been in hiding for a while (not a club enforced layoff) but had to make comment on this issue.
Tatty are paying lots of players, lots of money we all know this, so don't know why a few blokes on here keep trying to hide this. Money has wrecked lots of leagues, including this one but it...
My comment was not so much on how they got reported, but how the team re-acted to the incidents. We are all tired of the 'poor me the umpires victimise us' line that always gets brought out. Images all on camera of players hitting blokes behind the play, stomping on a players head, or an...
It is d^ckheads like you who give Scumbury its disgraceful reputation.
The real discussion should not be about how much money you spend on players(which we all know is a lot!), its about how many premierships you have thrown away through bad behaviour. If Scumbury had any disicpline at all...
Can ayone tell me if the MDFL have already engraved N.Kelly on the league medal this year? Played my first game back for a while on the weekend and had the pleasure of watching the umpires feed him free kick after free kick, even when he was sheep dogging in the back line. Rarely put his head...
Thats a rediculous policy by tatty. You always should look after the locals in some way even if its not always financial. You should pay players what they are worth otherwise it turns into an us vs them mentality.... obviously it costs a little bit more to bring recruits in who have to travel...
Yeah I think the boys are obviously dissapointed, but its not the end of the world. At least we know where we are at, and how much work we have to do to be a serious contender this season. Injuries have hurt Rovers, but were outclassed by a better side in Tattyoon, but we wont be the only club...
In no particluar order Bagley, Davidson *2, Hoey, Rinaldi, A.Robertson, Cleeland *2, Nicholls, Templar & Dudley form an impressive list of outs and would all be walk up starts in starting 21. Injuries and unanvailablities seem to be a curse at moment though.
Will be a good match, but expect Tatty to be too strong at this stage of season. Rovers are playing good footy but still missing a couple of key players yet to play this season, and have been hit hard by injury so far with 3 of better players out for extended period of time.
What happenend in the Matt Stasse striking report? The big fella is prone to dropping the bottom lip and doing something stupid when things aren't going his way. Such as Carnham losing 3 straight and having 0 wins for the year so far......
Tatty are looking strong but anything can happen on a particular day. Its 18 vs 18 and the smarter, more committed team will often win.
Still think Lismore-derri, Glen-Dunkeld, and SMW Rovers (injuries permitting) will put up a good show for the rest of the year.
Ridiculous comment! This is possibly the biggest who cares game of the round. South and Darley will be fighting it out for 6,7,8 positions on the ladder.
Game of the round is clearly East Point Vs Ballarat. Both top 4 teams, add Redan and Sunbury and that will be the top 4.
Getting dragged in modern footy should not really be seen as punishment for a poor effort. Smart clubs and coaches should be using the bench as a rotation for giving ruckmen/on ballers a breather or trying to get a mismatch.
As far as Mullane-Grant goes if he is having a hissy fit about...
Yes certainly a bit of a hiding in round one. Don't see much light at the end of the tunnel for the eagles. Tud34 have you(the club) managed to make in-roads in changing the culture out there and trying to get that disciplined culture that brings success?
Agree, Tatyoon still 5 goal better side than anyone else. Lismore haven't played anyone decent yet. Great to see Moyston/Willaura beat Lake Bolac......the wheels must have really fallen off at Bolac. Few other close games aswell, seems the comp has evened up a bit with caramut and hawksdale also...
Lualdeng & Footfanz it sounds like you are the one person answering your own questions on this post......?? Give us something decent to talk about other than two blokes who retired from footy at Rovers 2 & 4 years ago.
Heard on the grapevine that Lake Bolac have lost a heap of players (about 28) from last season with most retiring or not returning from Geelong to play after Brian McInnes called it quits. Pat Hoey played on the weekend but wont be coming back from now on. Thats another big loss for them...
Your right Hawksdale-Macarthur did only join the MDFL a few years ago. They seem to draw a lot of their players from Port Fairy or outskirts of Warrnambool, but can't seem to hang onto them.
Mob, any chance of getting this thread up on the main board? Seems to be getting a bit of traffic these...
Both of these teams have been near the bottom for last 3-4 years, Moyston-Willaura have had the spoon for the last 2 I think. They have both recruited about 15 players so will improve but still finish in the bottom 4 sides this year.
Not sure where you got this info mate, but you are getting ahead of yourself. Its actually Stephen Hamm and yes he is a huge man but only training at this stage.
Yeah Henderson goes missing when it counts.
My tip would be Andrew Robertson from Rovers. Takes about 20 marks a game and is very creative on the handball. Was injured a lot last year but, could be a big season for him.
Very good point you make Learmonth, they wont be able to fit all in but should help them cover any injuries for the year, good luxury to have I guess. Landry & Nicholson are athletic and will play as smaller forwards/flankers, Pellissier & Sordello down back and the rest can fight for a spot up...
Early call I know with the CHFL season still '3 training sessions away', but looking at recruits can't see Waubra being beaten this year. They have lost very few of any note and added Landry, Nicholson, Phil McDonald, Gilmore & Other Brown from Donald, and a few other clearances pending will...
If Neil Kelly can win 2 at a club that hardly won a game , then he must be a big chance at Lismore-Derri this year..... Not sure what his secret is but he must do something to impress the umpires....he is the most overated player I have seen in this league!
Grounds still seem to be an issue...
In his defence he has just finished playing in an A grade cricket GF, plus a cricket trip to Perth for 5 days so he is probably letting the body.....and liver recover a bit. Nicho is naturally fit and skillful enough to walk into Waubra's starting 18.
As for nobody liking him at Waubra, he tends...
