I get the feeling that our best 22 will be very dependent on pre season form, attitude etc rather than previous years forms and reputations. Clean slate for everyone
He keeps showing up as one of the better performers in the pre-season then red hot chance for Rd1
one of the ladies at work has just come back from a kidney stone.. said she'd rather go through child birth again...with Twins than have to go through another kidney stone
doesnt sound like much fun Gaso !
not only that,... you have a father son in the same team ??
so did Darth play 100 games for us, then had a son, then kept playing for 18 years until Luke was drafted ?
doesn't seem very believable to me
Not even Geelong gets that lucky with a father son
bit harsh.
Had a fantastic series against you guys in 2015 with 2 hundreds ( at the Gabba and Perth) .Then wasn't good in 2019 in Aussie when he was crook. Only played you in 11 tests .Also, if you remember the series in NZ , they have been real green tops .Not many top order batsmen got runs
yeah more ashes cricket is exactly what the cricket world needs......
Its like when they decided that the All Blacks should play the Saffers 3 times every year...result its become mundane, not highly anticipated etc.
The same thing will happen with more regular series between Aussies, Poms and...
yeah but if you gave me a choice of facing Dave Gilbert, Bob Holland, Craig McDermott & Greg Matthews or Cummins, Starc, Hazelwood & Lyon well its not hard to choose really is it.
Like deciding Border doesn't rate as high as Justin Langer because he played in a lot of weaker Aussie sides
yep past Martin Crowe and pretty close to King Dick now.
anyway its a fascinating to compare the 4 great bats of the last 10-15 years...All got their strong points and all have their kryptonite
Smith & Kohli have arguably gone 2 years too long which has tarnished their legacy a little bit...
same as you with the Kookaburra
NZ has pretty good test pitches now. does a bit first innings and then flattens out.
if you are a cricket fan then you should come watch some cricket here. The test grounds are awesome, really scenic. Basin reserve in Wellington, Hagley Oval in Christchurch...
yep.
Interesting was the comments in NZ V Sri Lanka game that i was listening too and they were talking about how the Kookaburra Ball had changed quite a bit in last 4 years with the seam strengthened. I wasn't aware of that, but would also explain some of the more pronounced ball movement...
good post. I keep going back to those games where we played some sublime football for patches. Those patches will become longer, confidence rises and bang we have a decent football side.
Not looking back at the last couple of games as the young side was cooked by then and not enough senior...
didnt mind Taufel but Crafter was a shocker
worse one from a kiwi point of view was the LBW in the 1987 boxing day test. Morrison hits whitney on the back pad in front of middle. Umpire decided the ball was going under the stumps.....
Cost us the test
When i lived in Aussie they did some analysis of the Pakistan Aussie series and looked at the 50/50 calls which Australia won something like 27 to 9.
Its just human nature though. You got Warne or McGrath yelling in your ear in front of 50,000 home town fans, well its no wonder they get more...
feel a bit sorry for McSweeney. All the tracks have been tough to bat on and he showed a bit of ticker and faced quite a few balls. like an old fashioned opener really. Not like he got shielded at all by his other opener either.
But also didn't look like he had a lot of talent and therefore I...
