This isn't just a game, it's a business, right?
The business answer is to cut bait. I'm not an expert in knowing whether Ross Lyon is making a difference and still deserves consideration. But the evidence is that this is a team that is playing a type of football that's not winning them...
(etc.)
I like the "categories" you put our players into... however, I disagree with you (and it looks like everybody else who's commented) about Jason Blake. Maybe he gives up a few (who doesn't?) but he puts himself into the middle of it every chance he gets. He's got heart and I for one...
I'm glad you included Jason - he's an all-around hard-worker IMO. Leigh seemed to be everywhere just when they needed him. Lenny was gutsy, but was still working himself into the game again, which is understandable. A number of his usually-accurate kicks didn't get where they were intended to...
I heard Elle on telly a few years ago say she was a Hawthorn fan for years and years.
And yes, some Sainters (including GT) carry Graham Kennedy's casket out of the church after his funeral.
A 'Jacko' - ala WC's Lynch - kicking for goal theatrics involving a glove (when's it gonna be sequin studded?). I expect soon to see him moonwalk back from the mark and adjust himself.
Today's Herald Sun: Riewoldt not in Pies sights
http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,21637081%255E19772,00.html
The last paragraph is what irks me. "Riewoldt's management plans to open talks with Saints, but the star's friendship with sacked coach Grant Thomas has...
To answer the question at hand, IMO, no - don't want him back. I believe he made some significant contributions, however, I also believe that the value of those contributions had peaked and begun to decrease - hence why a new coach coming in and taking our Sainters from where GT left them was a...
I think Aussies should be proud that Good Friday and Easter Monday are still important enough to recognise. It's been a long time since even Good Friday was considered a day valued enough for biz and bank closures in the US.
I think there are many good things/values that Australia and...
Well, I like how Brett plays, and I agree with you about fully fit players, regardless of how long they've played, etc. I was just surprised that he wasn't on the list.
Thanks!
I like it.
I think the acid wash/antiqued look is all about appealing to the demographic group they're trying to get to BUY new jumpers each year. New jumpers are all about marketing dollars.
Hey - what about those ugly stubbie holders all the teams are selling now... ;)
No, they do not. The most I've been told that are given the opposition is about 600 - I believe it's dependent upon how many members are in WA for the opposition. At that rate, many members never get a ticket.
Don't get excited!! The arrested comments were in line with the quote by the guy telling you that there were no drugs at St Kilda (which is the actual comment I hit a reply to). Sorry I strayed off the thread ;)
I am told my attitude about professional sports people is jaded because of my watching all the "holier than thou" attitudes from American "athletes" over the years. I have learned that it can be quite different here with regards to loyalty, etc. So that probably caused me to comment how I did...
It's probably more true that too many of them feel like they're the untouchable "golden child" - they are professional sportsmen - Judd has no reason to be loyal to anything but the dollars he can get for as long as he's able to play.
He's got my vote. I was wondering if someone was gonna mention him...
And poor Stephen Milne might not be bright enough to thinks he's great (somebody mentioned him, too).
