I saw Eric Bana at a game a couple of years ago, just sitting in with the crowd at Phone Dome, I was rather amused by the fact that I had better seats

Speaking about that, I've only been once to a footy game live. That was in London, in the Oval, that famous October Western Derby played in 2005. When I go to Australia I will definitely go to both TD and the MCG. Would any of you care to tell me which would you consider to be better and worser seats?

Thanks.

You'll love it. Beats the hell out of having to rely on Aussie Torrents. :thumbsu:

As for where the best seats are, everyone has a different opinion and it's something you'll have to decide for yourself when you get here.

For our home games, I've got a reserved seat on the bottom level right on the wing. Personally I think it's the best place to be. It's close to the action, you get a great view of the ground and it's where the atmosphere is at its best. However a few of my mates prefer sitting on the top level. You're a long way from the action but it gives you a better overall picture of what's happening. For example you'll get a better idea of how hard the midfielders are working and how much territory a player like Nick Riewoldt covers.

Telstra Dome is a great venue, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. For a brand new stadium Collo has decided to bring in some archaic new rules to deal with smokers and people not wanting to eat the ridiculously overpriced food but that aside the atmosphere is excellent and more importantly it's a ground that our team play very well.

As for the MCG, it's just one of the great sporting venues in the world. Hopefully you get a chance to go when it's full. There's just something special about going into the place. Make sure you go on a tour of the ground too. It will be interesting to hear your opinion of the ground compared to other great stadiums, like your very own Nou Camp.

As Sainter said, everyone's got a different opinion. At the MCG I normally sit in the member's on the second level, on the wing or a half forward flank to give the best overall view of the action. Other good spots are next to the cheer squad, they sit behind the goals or if you're feeling particularly brave you can always try Bay 13.

Maybe for your first game you should try moving about to see which view works best for you, spend a quarter behind the goals (ground level's best unless it's raining), a quarter at ground level on the wing, a quarter on the second level on the flank and maybe head to the top level for the last quarter.

I'm sure she goes for Hawthorn

Well she was boinking Gehrig for awhile...I thought she must have been a team groupie, cause what else could she in him?

And was Graham Kennedy really a Saints fan? I always thought he was a North man for some reason.

Ooh. Ooh. Elle Macpherson. Think she was our no. 1 ticket holder for five minutes. Had a photo of her in a Saints jumper for years.

Also Grant Thomas. Famous Saints fan often seen at games. Apparently knows some of the players.
That's a wonderful mental image

I heard Elle on telly a few years ago say she was a Hawthorn fan for years and years.

And yes, some Sainters (including GT) carry Graham Kennedy's casket out of the church after his funeral.
