Its quite interesting, and I think this has a good potential.
Dash sounds like he has a lot of enthusiasm for rugby, and his vision for rugby in the US though quite grand does show he has belief that...
Spot on. I think it was that warm up game against France last year that England racked up an 18pt lead (all from penalties) before they even starter to think about tries. Like you said its a negative attitude and I think dull to watch. Personally I prefer sides that take some risks as that...
Sounds impressive but doesn't take into account the time a team has possession. I think we all know that England has a habit of having most of the ball in nearly all games. The more ball you have the more opportunities for passes.
I like to see what kind of passes they are too. If its on...
Drop goals are good, its just depends on how you view them. I think to me its a sign of mental weakness of a team. To attempt a DG is like admitting you lack creativity and you don't believe you are good enough to score tries (ie England). But hey, its an act that does give rugby diversity like...
Its good they are thinking about things.
I agree with them that the game is in good shape. The laws are almost perfect, and its just a case of doing some minor tweaking here and there.
Quite true in some cases. Penalties awarded at scrums can be so hash especially when you have the ball...
now who else will be doing the same?
I think 'Dads Army' has 2 yrs max left in some of them. This will mean England will have many new faces come wc 2007.
I wonder if England has the depth to still remain at their current level. Could be the start of a decline if I may say so.
I have no problem with the notion that the games are 'events'.
It would be great if the Super12 lasted twice as long, but the round robin style really makes the competition more interesting and exciting.
The NFL is based on an 'event' notion, thats also part of the reason why so many in...
So far I have heard:
Perth - will get the Springbok game for the 3Ns
Brisbane - will get the game against England
Adelaide - a possible game against a Pacific Barbarians side
Melbourne - will get a games against Scotland
Sydney - will get the All Black game plus one against Scotland...
Is there a reason why car makers continue to make more powerful engines?
If the maximum speed limit is 100km, shouldn't car engines be made to have a maximum speed limit of 100 too?
Joey should forget about it. He is to old now, if he made the switch in 2000 he could have played in last years world cup.
Money can be spent better else where, namely the youth already playing the game.
Sounds like he was pushed out, or maybe he is eyeing an IRB job.
I actually liked O'Neil cause he is a straight talker and an outspoken type of guy. The ARU really benefitted having someone like him at the helm. I just hope whoever replaces him doesn't sit back and play the quite role.
Waratahs v Brumbies will be a sellout for sure. In fact that game should be at TS and the Swans at SCG. One day the Waratahs need to play some games at TS, give it a go and see how it goes.
Whether he likes it or not I think the media are going to make Jonny into the Beckham of rugby. Thats not neccessarily a bad thing as it will kind of help rugby in a way to lift its profile.
I saw the parade last night, and I have to say I think the english rugby team was really surprised at the turnout. You could see it on their faces that they were overwhelmed with the crowd that was there.
I think its good for the game that England won. Most english people are into their...
I think a pacific side should play most their games in Fiji, and a few in Samoa. It will also mean I think that they would run at a loss due to commercial reasons. So the rest of Sanzar might have to prop up the team.

This is from the makers of Jonah Lomu rugby - the best rugby game ever made.
So far things look good, in fact look much better than EA Rugby 2004, which was to say the least a very big disappointment.
If World Championship Rugby is similar to Jonah...
France are going to be major hosts in 2007 with Scotland, Ireland, and Wales getting some home matches.
With the success of Australia 2003, and how the country turned out to watch the games. This is proof for the second time (1st was SA in 95), that sole host status is the better option...
The 9Ns is the dumbest idea ever! Its going to do nothing for international rugby.
I've read that the Welsh RFU are going to heavily oppose any such idea. Good on them, and I hope other unions follow suit.
What is needed is that the minnows need some top quality opposition. At least the A...
Well I've been to the Dome, Suncorp Stadium, and the SFS, and the best one is Suncorp Stadium.
In the world cup Suncorp Stadium had the best atmosphere and view. At the Dome, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the view was good but still too far away.
Makes me wonder whether this news is true or not in the first place.
Maybe someone hated the 9Ns proposal (I know I do) and so wrote that article to say Rupeni wanted to play for the All Blacks. Its big news cause Rupeni is the hottest rugby player going around at the moment.
Obviously the...
Its a pretty tough call.
I know that there are some Australia and NZ schools go over to the pacific and scout some young rugby players. The schools give them scholarships and when they finish school usually some of them catches the eye of the ARU and NZRFU.
Look at Jone Tawake - prime...
The IRB are idiots
We had the best ever world cup final and we should be encouraging more footage of it to be shown. Why charge a premium for it? Its in the best interest for it to be shown many times over - that kind of publicity is priceless.
The IRB will pocket AUS$150 million profit from this years world cup.
The question is now whether we can trust them with developing the game globally as this is what we would expect from them as fans.
That is a huge sum of money they got in their hands. A lot of responsibilities comes with...
I can't see anything wrong with O'Neils comments.
He states he wants RU to be no.1 in NSW/QLD and no.2 in the AFL states. Its a totally achieveable objective even though it is a couple decades off. You can't criticise someone because they have ambition or have a desire to see it happen...
Mint was saying just make it illegal for a player to pass the ball back inside the 22 for another to just kick it out again.
What I'm saying while that sounds good in theory it would just be then overcome by smart thinking.
England uses this tactic alot. After the lineout they maul it up...
Totally agreed. But I think teams would then just smarten up and the receiver would just pass it again to another player in the 22 to kick it back out.
Best option Mint is to reduce the 22m line to a 15m line. That way 7m will be cut on the kickers kick.
