Man this one eyed view on the draft shits me to tears. So if the best available player in this draft happens to be a ruckman do we take him even though we have a large stock of yound talented ruckman, knowing that when they all peak we will only be able to play 2 of them while the others go to...
Thats crap. Sure some players wouldn't care if their number was 99, but i think you'll find many players would be superstitious about numbers in one way or another. Not that it would affect their performances, but they would definitely have their preferences. And nothing wrong with that IMO.
Just like someone said before, don't judge the whole div by the bottom sides.
No doubt that the bottom sides of SFL div 3 are very poor, however the top half of the teams would be more than competitve with teams in D3 and D2.
Mt Waverley Doveton and Skye would all do very well in those ammo...
Why is it that everyone worships the number 1 pick. Sorry if i'm wrong, but has every number one pick turned out to be the best player of all time?
Surely the best midfielder in the comp is worth more than pick 1. Same goes for the best forward, ruckman, backman, etc.
I reckon i...
I'd say basketball would be pretty close. In terms of participation.
Most people have played competitive basketball at some stage in their lives. Obviously it's not as big at the top level, but socially it would be right up there.
Out of the 2 finals campaigns that the SFL run, the final 5 is alot better.
If the final 4 was run over 3 weeks instead of 4 then the answer might be different, but the way that the SFL run the top 4 makes a mockery of finals footy.:o
The only problem i see with the top 5 at the momnet is...
My god. I've tried to ignore all this rubbish, but i cant stand listening to this moron anymore.
In the following situation i'll assume that the higher ranked team wins each week.
Week 1:
Div 2 - 4 vs 5, 2 vs 3, 1 gets the week off
Div 3 - 3 vs 4, 1 & 2 get the week off
Week 2:
Div 2 - 3 vs...
Re: The Cancer
Thats the point. I don't think anyone can claim that Buddy should get off when arguing the rule, but what everyone is pissed about is that the AFL have brought this rule into the competition, which as far as i can tell no one agrees with it, and it is ruining the game we have...
Re: The Cancer
This is spot on. I don't have a problem with people getting suspended for purposely hurting someone through a bump etc, but the problem is the AFL are on a 'witch hunt'. As soon as someone gets hurt somebody has to pay. Hence then reason people are scared that contact will be...
Who cares who played ones or twos? Its not finals yet and there is no rule against it. If thats why Sandown loose points then thats a disgrace. :thumbsd:
Clubs can choose to aim for a reserves flag if they wish, but they aren't going to win any friends in doing so and thats not the leagues...
Funny, I would have said the same thing about the likes of R Clarke, Dawson, Dempster, McQualter and Jones last year.
Amazing what a bit of persistence can achieve.
I must have been watching a different game. Yes were pathetic, but to start taking shots at players because of reputation :thumbsd:.
Just my opinion but i thought the bolded players were probably our best tonight.
Damn it. Forget to do my tips for 2 weeks. Cost myself big time. :o
Any how for this week my tips are as follows:
Thornton Eildon v Olinda Ferny Creek
Kinglake v Powelltown
Yarra Glen v Belgrave
Emerald v Seville
Yea v Yarra Junction
This doesn't make any sense at all. You're saying Mt were unlucky not to win against Hampton, but there is a massive gap between the 2 sides.
Seems like your just trying to convince yourself.
I'm not often one to criticize my own team, but after tonight's performance I'm convinced our team is severely lacking the want and desire to win.
I don't believe (in the last few years) we have had a bigger game in terms of passion, especially after the defeat early this year, and we turned up...
From looking at the footage of the game on the internet it seems that the Hampton player started the altercation. No doubt that a runner shouldn't touch an oppostion player, but when an opposition player starts having a go at a runner then i believe the runner is intilted to defend himself. On...
I think its a really good idea. I'm not often someone who likes changing the game, but i think this has alot of merit and allows struggling teams another way to have a part of the season. I can see some problems with it like you said where some teams wont play as many games per year as others...
My god you know a lot. Its quite amazing how someone who despises div 3 knows so much about it.
Well just in case you didn't know, which i'm sure you did, in the last two seasons: 1 league b&f, 2 club b&f's while playing in a team that finished minor premiers both years and a BOG in a...
Maybe if you had any idea what you were talking about then somebody might take note of you.
But obviously you don't even know what you're talking about. :o
The Koach's Credibility = 0
