Hello Gents..AFL Cairns used to be a ripping thread... It's dropped of alot...I'm a former resident of Nth Qld, now living in Asia....AFL Cairns is the most difficult environment for any Club to be successful and survive, in any AFL Climate...The Bottom line is.. You are as good as the people...
Lads.. the 3 clubs that are not supported on this forum...cities, centrals and Port Douglas.... are they any ridiculous chance of being competitive this season... all the talk on the forum is for Saints, as per usual, Nth Cairns,, results will soon tell the truth.. Hawkes who are a unknown at...
Re: AFL Cairns - 2011 Season
Hawks are packing to many guns this season.. there number of qaulity players far out way the crocs..The Crocs have'nt even looked like getting anywhere near them in there two previous encounters this season up at the croc pit.. the hawks are doing it on the bit at...
Tamba made the statement that Sj was'nt here when the point system was'tn in... which was wrong.. so how was it that we were having at The league or individuals involved in impluctating the points system regardles of infulention coaches
The points system was formulated in 2008 and implicated in 2009.... SJ was coaching in 2007.. so whether it was bought in because of SJ,, that is open to everyone's opinion.. but the facts are that he's was coaching 2 years before the points system come into AFL Cairns
16 of the original sqaud have pulled out of the rep game , it's great for those who have got the call up ,, but it's a shame AFL CAIRNS can't showcase there best team
Would think Port would be pretty happy to beat Hawks by your predicted 6-8 goals Dr Dick... Hawks belted the Crocs in the first round and would say that both teams have improved again, but not enough for the gap to close to much,, Hawks have far more fire power than any other team in the comp...
Tamba old mate, just been flicking through some old notes, and can't find anywhere that the Crocs have stated that they are one tune this season or anything of them saying that they have players missing or the ROT that you speak of,, if you can let me know where that is printed anywhere , i...
Whats the problem with clubs spending money... it's a ridiculous topic.. all clubs have different dynamics.. some clubs need to spend more than others just to field teams.. and you can normally only spend what you have.. i congratulate clubs who have more than others, because more probably than...
Yes,, Relton Roberts a great get for the club and league, but as we all know, these lads always come with a risk and an expense to were ever they go.. it's not there ability you have to worry about, it's keeping the off field side of things in place.... Hopefully he makes the flight...
I think your being a little hard on Brett Potter , no tougher job in a football club than a President has, 30-40 hours a week as a volunteer,,while the majority of the football departments are paid..If someone was interested in taking the job of Brett, i would be pretty sure he would be over the...

Watched Tim Mosquito play last saturday in Darwin, very handy get, there's not much of him but has excellent skills and moves very well, don't know how he would perform in the mud mid-year but you'd rather have than not
Port Douglas has the best home crowds by far, but dont travel away to well..Cairns Saints dont travel away to bad and south cairns supporters are the best travellers but only when they are winning
I have no doubt that your club would very embarrased by the comments you have just made,, that would have to be the worst post i have ever seen on this forum.. 'YOU ARE A ********'
I have'nt heard of one player being confirmed of moving to any AFL CAIRNS club recently.. is it the work or most clubs can't afford to get players up north.. with no comfirmation.... is it going to be a tough year for the league and clubs in general
Flintstone.. what club does'nt pay players.. it bewilders me when people say that clubs try to buy premierships.. thats how the game works you dipstick.. and it will never change.. every club has different dymanics, and do what works for them.. i think you would be surprised what the lower clubs...
Congratulations to Cairns Saints.. they were to good on the day.. Port Douglas are a different identity to any other club in AFL CAIRNS.. If they the don't import players .. the club does not field 2 teams..I think they done a great effort to do what they did...Cairns Saints have a fantastic...
Well said, here here.. never knock someone who is having a go, any wonder they are sruggling for umpires when they are publicly abused and ridiculed with every decision they make [ RIGHT OR WRONG] i think the league is doing a great job enticing young local people into learning about the game...
I agree centreman,Port douglas have'nt been pushed on the score board to much thus far, but will be without k. uebergang and b.cooper this week both through suspensions, and c.beetham reportable has been unwell for a few weeks and probably wont play, luke bloom a hamstring injury, and b.beall...
I think your being a little hard there Goatie, for starters Rob Douglas new full and well what the situation was before he took the job on. south cairns has the biggest and strongest committee in the league and unfortunately with the mass exodus of players and the high costs that went with...
the point system has to be given time.. it's only had one year, it may take 3-4 years before we see whether it's for better or worse..
i think port douglas are the first unfortunate club to be at the mercy of a few teething problems in the point system, and maybe next year it might be another...
Re: Goulburn Valley FL - Part 4
Jason Eagle is very Impressive unit.. Having watched him in 08 in the cairns league kick over 100 goals with ease [ inferior to both QAFL and GVFL] not sure whether as exciting as the great Saad Saad.. but will be hard to match up, even by the strongest of teams...
Re: Cairns AFL
tamba..if you read it right.. IF YOU GO BY CLEARANCES THUS FAR..it's pretty clear that they are the facts.. what is so RASH about the truth to date
Re: Cairns AFL
you don't have to be einstein to work it out Poiderr.. you to can look at the clearances on the afl cairns website.. no doubt there will be more to come.. but it's all pretty black and white with most clubs..it's become very hard for clubs to play ducks and drakes anymore...
