I had surgery on both legs in all 3 compartments for compartment syndrome in Nov 09. I haven't been playing footy lately due to work commitments and my legs were hurting slightly in the last few weeks of playing.
I'll just run twice a week slowly and get stuck into swimming and cycling.
Hey,
Was just wondering if people could point me in the right direction on how to return to decent fitness after a 6 week layoff.
I plan to spend time on the spin bike and in the pool but as far as running goes should i be doing say one session of fartlek running and the other just slow laps...
Apparently Terry Ness was approached by Matt Malone down town and they had a casual conversation about football, with Terry not expecting there to be an article at all let alone one being plastered on the back page of the agoniser. Bit unfair to say that about Turvey, they try their hardest to...
I'm doing nightfill and uni at the moment, I'm looking to move out next year but need some extra coin. I've got my rsa and rcg is it easy to get a job at a pub without training? Do they train you on the job? They extra pay is enticing and the environment seems great. Failing that, is working at...
What sort of exercises should i be doing to improve my ankles and hip?
All the surgeon said was slowly build the workload up by swimming and bike riding for about 5 weeks after the surgery. Then try a bit of running and increase the workload if there is no pain. I think i might have to go see...
In about March i stopped playing footy due to compartment syndrome in all three compartments in both legs giving me alot of pain. I basically stopped running and only did a bit of cardio work on the bike. I had surgery for my compartment syndrome in about mid-October and should be good to go in...
CarltonBlue I know your hurting mentally but maybe having 4 weeks out would be the best option. Despite your club needing you presence on field due to your amazing leadership attributes, think of the long term situation. You wouldn't want what seems like a small injury now, developing into...
I'm from Wagga and I've talked to a few people who have seen him play, he apparently is nothing special. That's not to say i don't want him to succeed.
If you were watching closely carltonblue you would have realised Dane went down early with injury and bravely fought on for the rest of the game. I'm still open to any wagers for the Jim Quinn Medal.
Gumby was running super human times in the beep test in this preseason, there is no problem with his fitness. As soon as he is 100% it won't take long to tap into that fitness base.
Interesting article in today's Daily Agoniser. Good luck to Lakepa. Can anyone comment on him for those that might of seen him playing Carrol Cup? Also i thought Sheedy had left the bombers, that the days of his wild experiments were over...
Yeah, I haven't done any running for about 2 months now. If i'm on my feet all day my legs will ache more than usual and if i walk up stairs I get the pain. I'm seeing a sports physician in a couple of weeks, it seems like surgery will be the best option? at least i know its fixed then, i don't...
Sorry to hijack the thread for a second, but i've been diagnosed with compartment syndrome. My physio said rest it for two weeks, so i did that then played and the pain was still pretty bad so now ive had a month off and the pain is still there. Should i book an appointment with my doctor to get...
It was my understanding that having ice baths then hot showers flushed the lactic acid out of the body, as the blood vessels constrict. I'm not too sure about helping it solve injuries though.
Hey boys,
As an official from a club in the Southern NSW region I'm keen to know which player from the Black Diamond League you rate as the best in the league. I've noticed a few on this board have declared themselves to be part of the upper echelon of the competition. A close friend of mine...
Hey,
Been doing a fair bit for preseason, in the last few weeks I'm getting soreness in up my Achilles and shins. I've got a pair of asics runners, and I'm looking to upgrade them to see if this will make any difference. I had this problem too, during last season. My calf muscles would tighten...
I see Noye didn't take the opportunity to announce the ex-afl signing. From what i hear, this recruit's potential business plans maybe not work out. They are currently under consideration by the local government. Although a source has said he is a 50/50 chance of signing with the Saints for 09...
Hey everyone,
Just got a few questions. I've been going to the gym for probably 2 months now and over that time i've put on about 4 kg's. Preseason for footy has started in the last couple of weeks and i seem to be losing a bit of the weight ive put on. I go to the gym probably 4 times a week...
Well I've got some big news from North of the Murrumbidgee. I have been told that North Wagga Saints have acquired a large sum of money and are looking to sign a marquee player of sorts. One can only speculate where such a large amount of money has come from, maybe TPFC have shared their...
Don't you worry, Jack Jolley and Brian Hill have done a marvellous job with the money tree, treated to copious amounts of seasol, dynamic lifter and water on a regular basis. The maintainence has partly been due to the asking price of Brad Walker who has demanded an almost unreasonable price tag...
Oncewas, I have heard from a very good source that the Hawks attempted to sign 3 Turvey Players ( Hooker, Donaldson and Brown) long before the Bulldogs spoke to Craig and Pollett. So maybe you should get your info correct before whinging, you despicable piece of scum.
Could someone tell me what the hell is going on with the telecast in NSW? They have the swans vs port game on austar(Foxtel) and seven. Does this mean that the game should be shown on a fox sports plus channel like main event? or wont it be shown on tv for nsw viewers?
Re: 20. Henry Slattery
I thought his best was restricting Kerr to something like 14 disposals in the game against WC @ the dome when we won by a point.
Re: 11. Damien Peverill
I saw Pev out and about last night in the CBD without his mask on, the kids were quivering and screaming, people were moving out of the way on the pavement, he is one scary man without his mask!
