I think it is a lay down misere that Austin will get the nod. We are down two tall defenders due to injury (plus two medium defenders as well). In his first game for Williamstown Austin is BOG at CHB. If he can back it up the next week he is surely a lock to be promoted. He already has 15 games...
Answer to Question 1: No
Answer to Question 2: I certainly would
Re "pedantics", the correct term is "pedants". I hope that is not being too pedantic. :D
Supplying alcohol to a minor for starters. But anyway, I don't think it is the police thay Nixon needs to worry about. It is the AFLPA and the parents of prospective clients (if he retains his licence) who will decide his future.
Everitt had a much better first year than Jones, yet in the same post you question awarding the number to Everitt then suggest it should be given to Jones?
Talk about having your cake and eating it too!
I am with you JTG, but a positive post (or even a neutral one) on BF after a Dogs loss draws more vitriol than......., well anything.
It is also guaranteed that more than one poster will point out that you are the reason the Dogs haven't won a premiership in 50 years. Apparently demographics...
Correct me if I am wrong, but haven't the Pies just lost two in a row? So yes, our form suggets we will win.
What I love (sorry, hate) about all the negative posts is that in a few weeks if we turn it around, there won't be any "oops we were wrong" posts. Just, rationalisation that what was...
I agree with earlier posters that he looks like a natural fullforward. FF is all about explosive pace and great hands. CHF is more about continual movement and great hands.
I also have no doubt that he will put on more muscle. He may never play at 100kg, but getting into the nineties won't be...
Simply really, isn't it!! Makes you wonder why other teams haven't tried it.
Well, actually they have and guess what. It doesn't work!!! Instead you get a blow out where St Kilda wins by 100 points.
Look at last year's ladder and results. Look at St Kilda's win/loss ratio and percentage...
:confused: He was playing againt Nathan Brown and Sean Rusling, two AFL listed players. Collingwood played in a VFL preliminary final last year. I would say Grant and Little gave very good (VFL) opposition a bath.
And if your Aunty was a bloke she would be your Uncle.
If we lose this one we need a kick up the backside, but at the end of the day we have lost 2 games.
I only heard the last couple of minutes of the game and bits and pieces of the after match wrap up. Grant kicked 3 and apparently took some very nice contested marks. Also, I thought I heard them say Wight was very strong in the backline. Made mention of a look away handball from Cordy which...
What is going on?
It is only three weeks in, we have a winning line-up, no-one in the senior team played poorly and our VFL side hasn't even played a game for points yet. We should only make changes if there are injury questions, a suspension, or the coaches believe we have a match-up issue...
Just heard on the radio that Everitt is playing in the Williamstown Vs AIS game that is going on at the moment (curtain raiser to Eagles Vs Saints game at the Dome).
The last thing I want is for this to degenerate into a tit for tat posting and I know from your posts that you are not a team basher. But I do want to point out that people should never confuse optimism with realism. A lot of posters on here give realistic opinions on our team. IMO this is a...
So are you predicting that Hawthorn and Geelong will share the premierships for the next 2, 3 or 4 years or that some club (other than us) will emerge from the ruck to take the mantle? If our premiership window is not open, than whose is? Geelong and Hawthorn won the last two, how many...
This thread has gone seriously off topic. However, in response to the above quote, Wight may be gone in 2010, but he was our CHB for the first 10 rounds last year, games that we won. How can the conclusion at this point in time be that he has been there too long?
Thanks for the Easton Wood...
Grant's injuries and Williams' original (and longest term) injuries happened at Willy or during training or at the beach, not because they were rushed into the senior side. If Cordy's form warrants senior selection he should be played, but he would need to be monitored closely.
Yep exactly. My point was that Wood and Grant would not have been considered by most supporters to be in our best 30. If their pre-seasons have catapulted them into our best 22 (in the coaches' eyes) when we have almost the full list available, then our depth has suddenly grown significantly...
I think Grant looks like a natural CHF. He has the pace and ball handling skills. Reads the play very well, sticky hands, good body use and is plenty tall enough. Some posters raise question marks over his build and seem to feel a lighter build is a better fit for FF. However, it is too early to...
If all the above players were available and Wood and Grant won selection over any of them for round 1, then I would be extremely excited about our prospects for 2009.
So basically your post is completely off topic as it has nothing to do with tonight's game.
Pros: Lots of them, but in particular Grant. From limited game time he could have easily kicked 3 or 4. On a number of occasions beat an experienced, accomplished and much stronger opponent (McPhee)...
Re: NAB cip game now Friday in Melbourne for bushfire fundraiser
Happy to see the boys play live and even happier to know the money is going to help the bushfire victims. Wonder if the change of venue will cause Rocket to re-think his policy regarding resting the veterans.
I haven't got my old membership card on me, however I suspect it is very likely that the major sponsor's name appears on it. If this is in fact the case then you may have your answer.
Not to be out pedanticised, I am sure they are transferable, so long as the person using them meets any associated restrictions, eg only a youth can use a youth membership.
Unfortunately the game is footy, not bench pressing. A little bit more strength through the hips wouldn't go astray. Then again, maybe his hips only look small because his shoulders and upper arms look like Popeye's.
Ahem....West Coast had Ashley Hansen at CHF and Quinten Lynch at FF in their Pemiership line-up.
Rocket has clearly been working to a plan over the past 4 years, developing the players and modifying the team plan. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 the plan was all out attack to take advantage of our leg...
