Cole and Duggan have been awful the past few weeks and today was no exception
Waterman looked great against the Dogs when it was a glorified training drill. Invisible again today
Vardy was horrific. Grundy absolutely pantsed him.
What's worse is he kept trying the same approach in the ruck every time, but continued to lose every tap. Is Cox still our ruck coach? What does he get paid to do?
Disgraceful
Masten was really good tonight
Hurn best game for the year but I wish he would kick to himself from full back more often and gain 70+ metres rather than kick 10 metres to the pocket
What the hell has happened to this bloke? He hasn't gotten near it all year and looked clueless on the weekend.
I can't remember if he had an interrupted preseason or not, but regardless it's shocking how much he has stagnated. Part of this HAS to fall on our coaching staff and their inability...
After simmering post-game, I don't think any player was particularly terrible. Cripps was probably the worst after going missing for the entire second half.
The problem today was our elite players didn't stand up, whereas Martin, Cotchin, Rance all did. If the chips are down we don't have...
His legacy will be summarised by the limp deer-in-headlights performance in the 2015 GF. A good coach, see: Luke Beveridge, would have his side ready to play.
A lot currently is on our lack of match-winners, but Simpson will never take us to a flag
We don't have anyone who will grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Richmond have Cotchin, Martin
Really need a lift from Priddis - this is his type of game now in the slop
Same old story - our midfield can't compete with the bigger, stronger, more talented midfields. Bont, Libba, McCrae, are all better players and more complete players than Shuey and Priddis. We need Sheed back as he is our closest hope to having that big, physical inside mid we need
Thought...
Very early but there are signs we have a future midfield general with Sheed
-Big body
-outside and inside ability
-Left footer
-has an air of confidence about the way he plays
Persisting with him in the middle will be great viewing for the rest of what will be a very average year
Pretty happy with my call a bit over 5 years to the day :thumbsu:
Ablett is of course a once-a-century player and I would take Fyfe over Dangerfield right now and going into the future. Dangerfield is a smoky for the Brownlow this year so in some ways, thread might be true in the end
Story of our year
Control long periods of the game and pepper the goals, but only for minor scores
Opposition breaks from defense and kicks the easiest goal against the run of play (see Martin in the 3rd last night, Pavlich in the first Derby)
Need a huge injection of class in the midfield and...
3 ruckman - all playing as bad as each other. NicNat looks lost
The dregs - Brennan, Smith, Butler, Hutchings - are shocking
Can't find any positives bar maybe Darling's game and a couple of big clunks from Gov
Negatives
-NicNat was atrocious. Love him to death, but he was shocking today. Can't believe his inability this year to clunk the big pack marks he was doing a few seasons ago
-Kennedy was awful. Wellingham awful. Priddis butchered it something serious today
-Brown injury
-Sheppard invisible...
Absolutely insipid. About 3 blokes playing acceptable games. Why is Matt Rosa playing in defence? Why has Masten turned into an invalid since last year? Wellingham unsighted. Shuey too
Full-strength side and getting pantsed at home by a borderline top 8 team. Huge questions over Simpson and the...
Why is Josh Kennedy so ****ing r3tarded this year? Every game you can count on him to do 2 or 3 boneheaded things that cost us. He looks slow and uncoordinated. What have this coaching staff done with him?? I want 2011-13 JK back
**** me NicNat looks cooked. Big contest in the last quarter on the broadcast HFF...got hands to the ball but didn't ever look like marking it. 2 years ago he would've swallowed it
Still probably the best ruck in the league even at 75%
We look limp around the stoppages when NicNat isn't there. Need a huge last quarter from him
Credit to Sheppard for a couple of great efforts that quarter.
Hutchings isn't a pretty footballer but I like the way he goes about it. Bennell + Darling = awesome. Glass and MacKenzie too
Sorry but Sheppard is a poor footballer. He has an uncanny knack for screwing up
Take him, Hill and Cripps out and this looks like a borderline-top 4 side
