i think the value in having it stand alone is all in the lead up. it is up against the NRL's opening weekend and its the first ever cross town sydney clash. The AFL are aiming to detract from the press coverage of the NRL, and a stunt like this will probably succeed. who cares if afterwards all...

i think its obvious that GC could do with some mature bodies so i would be surprised if they didnt. The only problem could be is if GWS decides that playing 15 first gamers isnt a good idea and trades some of its picks for mature players. that could mean GC will have to pay over the odds

unfortunalely not everyone lives in sydney. the 7 hour drive home after the game is a bit much to do every week.

if everyone reads the thread title, it says shane mumford best play in comp by 2013. i take this to mean that he will do a mad match saving tackle and goal, or take an important mark, something along those lines. It will be the best play in the 2013 season. to this i say not impossible

the dees used the sub really well too, petterd very nearly won the game for them with his last quarter impact. everyone seems to hate it, but i reckon it adds another tactical dimension to the game. plus when there is injuries it makes it a lot fairer. i reckon it was pretty successful too...

huge loss, very sad to see him go. but congrats on being so awesome, and congrats on such a great career. he will be missed
