So I made a post in that thread on the Trading board evaluating the trade value of our list. What do you guys think:

> Pick 1
Sam Reid (this kid could be anything. Obviously this is based well and truly on potential rather than results so far).

Picks 1-3
Shane Mumford (top 5 ruckman in his prime deserves a high price)

Picks 4-10
Adam Goodes - Entirely dependent on who would be trading for him. A team squarely in their window would probably give up pick 1 if by some luck they had it, but a team at the bottom of their cycle might not bother. So I put him here.
Daniel Hannebery
Kieran Jack
Gary Rohan

Picks 11-20
Heath Grundy
Alex Johnson
Josh Kennedy
Jarrad McVeigh
Luke Parker
Ted Richards
Lewis Johnston
Nick Smith (tough one. High quality small defender, but do they play well on the trade market? Not sure.)

Picks 21-35
Lewis Jetta
Jed Lamb
Ben McGlynn
Ryan O'Keefe (similar to Goodes)

Picks 36-60
Craig Bird
Trent Dennis-Lane
Campbell Heath (closer to 60 than 36)
Nick Malceski
Brett Meredith
Mike Pyke (if there was no sub rule, I'd put him in the 21-35 bracket. I don't think he's good enough to be a number one ruck but he could be a very good back up.
Lewis-Roberts Thomson
Marty Mattner
Matt Spangher (closer to 60)
Byron Sumner (not taking into account the fact he doesn't want to play for the club)

Picks 60-90
Paul Bevan (closer to 90 than 60)
Jude Bolton
Andrejs Everitt
Jarrad Moore
Mark Seaby
Rhyce Shaw
Jesse White
Daniel Currie

Picks 90 +
None

I'd put Jude Bolton in the late teens regardless of age, Everitt around pick 35, LRT/Mal early 30's

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

reports are that we have offered Gia from the doggies a 2 year deal, and that the dogs are only willing to offer one.

Never liked Gia, mainly cause he always stuffed my dream team around.

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

Hope not I would prefer we debut more kids like we did this year and build our team up instead of drafting ready made players to fill spaces on our list

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

We can't just trade trash and get gems. Redden is rated highly by Brisbane. Not going anywhere

Nothing would surprise me with Brisbane, questions have to be asked why everyone is jumping ship? its not a coincidence. Ive heard Mitch Clarke is on the move too.

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

Yeah definitely not interested in Gia, he is almost 30 isnt he?

Would be better to play a young player in the role than trade for Gia.

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

On the draft/trade board, people are saying that SEN has reported that Daniel Connors from Richmond is seeking a trade. Will make a few in our neck of the woods happy.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=876722

I'd have a go at him for sure. Offer them Seaby as they need a big, strong ruckman badly. If they say no to that (as they probably will seeing as they want Maric), offer a 2nd rounder or maybe a 3rd with a player.

Connors has vast talent, it's his attitude and off-field behaviour that casts a cloud over him.

Talent-wise, yes, I'd gladly have a serious look.

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

We gotta make sure we don't get dudded by Adelaide. This is the trend of the conversation on the Crows forum about Armstrong:
"Good point! we should be talking him up to the champion he really is...

Massive loss to the club, we may never see his like again.... ;) "

It could be they just put him in the side to raise his value. Some Crows fans say he might have been delisted if not for those last games, 4 of which were against bottom sides.
I think they were mostly being tongue-in-cheek lol. :p

I'm not a huge fan of Armstrong and apart from his kicking, which is very nice over short distances, the rest of his game isn't too crash hot. He's still skinny and doesn't go hard enough on occasions.

Obviously Sumner has been mentioned in regards to a potential trade. Are there any other fringe players whose names could come up in a trade. Brett Meredith perhaps?

Grrr do not go there.

Josh Kennedy would be a 4-10 pick, Seaby 36-60, Mcglynn between 11-20 IMO, but its a pretty good estimation nonetheless.

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

I'm liking the sound of going after Daniel Connors. Again we don't have heaps to deal with but he's got the goods from what I've seen of him.

Get him right off-field and we could have an absolute beauty.

Adding Connors and Armstrong would give us a good boost of skills and pace. If we could pick up a good big bodied forward from the VFL/SANFL/WAFL, that'd be perfect. There isn't much about in terms of big forwards (Dawes is off the market from all accounts).

Re: Early Trade Week Thread

Any thoughts on the leading goal kicker in the NEAFL with the NT Thunder Darren Ewing? 25yo. Kicked 115 goals for the season. Won two flags this year. Not huge so can obviously play. Could play 3rd or 4th forward. Booming left footer and accurate kick. Good defensive pressure too apparently. Worth a rookie spot?

Id be surprised if anyone over 22 was taken from the NEAFL.

If he's that good and committed to playing AFL he would be talking to SANFL teams to demonstrate an ability to play consistently well against opposition closer to AFL standard than the NEAFL.

Connors has a serious drinking problem, but from all reports hes come along way after Cousins of all people took him under his wing and helped steer him in the right direction, Cousins even knocked him out for playing up I think after a Swans game, he can play and definitely worth at least consideration.

Although I attend pretty much every Richmond game there is and have been a pretty big fan of Daniel Connors, one thing he doesn't have is pace. He is as slow as anything.

Please, please.........................may we have him!
We do need to preserve our culture.............he can help!
