That was the way I was thinking also bedders. If he (COUSINS) was still around at pick 61 which I think is our last draft pick, I reckon he would be worth a punt.
I must admit I had reservations when we picked up Paul Williams a few seasons ago and he well and truly proved my first thoughts...
Should the Swans entertain using a late draft pick to obtain Ben Cousins or do we stand to loose too much in retaining or attracting new sponsors and prospective young players ???
Your thoughts ???
BIG BEZ, the Nick Davis classic quote from the interview on SEN was
" a friend mentioned to me recently, form is TEMPORARY but class is PERMANENT???"
Nick has never been one to pass up the opportunity to pump up his own tyres !!! IMHO a damn shame because he has talent to burn but...
Voss appears to have moved Copeland on from Brisbane who had shown previous interest in possibly joining the Swans. Is he worth a punt for a late draft pick or is he too similar to our apparent over supply of running HB's currently have on our list ???
Great work Grim, you and Sth Swans are to be commended on your consistent efforts in regards to your regular BF posts and organising the POTY 2008.:D:thumbsu:
SEN has just indicated that the Swans have offered up our 3rd Round pick for Rhys Shaw ???
Swans also receive pick 61 in the exchange as part of the deal
Rumour has it that our favourite BF poster "bedford" is to make an impassioned plea of apology to Jarred McVeigh aka "Mc Hack" after receipt of his recent Bob Skilton trophy Best & Fairest award for season 2008.
Well Done Jarred, all Swans supporters look forward to you and the other young...
Welcome to Silly Season !!!!
IMO (& I hope) that it is all a media beat-up and the swans and ROK are still negotiating ???
Reports of the Swans offering Kerr a (5) year seems like BS, as how can Roos or anyone connected with the Swans offer a currently contracted player in Kerr, a deal if the...
Re: RoK wants to go!
ROK has expressed an intention to return to Melbourne. We are limited as to what we can demand because he is out of contract. We need to try and shop him around to the bottom (4) clubs if we are able to with the intention of gaining early draft picks.
IMO we should go...
Dear PP, Happy memories of the Lakeside Oval priceless !!! I don't recall pinching a sherrin from the Grandstand though. Maybe our broo ML who has the tendency to be a bit light fingered. Regards, LL.
I personally think that Paul Roos idea of drafting the best possible talent is flawd as i think most other teams have seen alot more success out of their first 2 draft selections over the past 6 years than we have.
I think in 2005 Roos traded our first draft pick 15 ??? to Melbourne for...
Re: Rok
Take the North final. We had lots of super players in that second half and I don't think ROK was the absolute best. But arguably it was three or four movements created by him - strong midfield marks and quick play-ons to Hall one-out - that really cracked the game open and broke the...

Apologies to all for not getting to the Brewery. Didn't get to the ground until 6.45 p.m. and with my son (10 yrs) in tow didn't think the Brewery with the dismal weather around was the right option. We both were very glad we made the effort to get to the game though. Great to see the...

Apologies to Hall, Goodes, Moore, Buchanan.
Fantastic team effort after half time.
Poor Crowd, lacked usual finals atmosphere, although the Swans supporters present did their best :thumbsu:
Lucky to be 1,000 North supporters present...
I think this article off the swans web-site sums up the great contribution of Ben Matthew to our football club. Once again Benny well done from All Swans supporters on a fantastic career.:thumbsu:

Ben Mathews and coach...
I think you are just a bit envious bedders and would gladly take his spot. Old Kenny is harmless and has been a long-time supporter of the club as you and I have. I don't think he would be in there if the players and coaching staff didn't want him there !!!
My son & I are sitting in Aisle 130 Row 18 Seats 28 & 29.
With only about 17,000 seats sold all Swans BF posters should be able see one another. A Disappointing turn-out from both sets of supporters really.:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:
I aim to be at the ground b/w 5.30 p.m to 6.00 p.m. and will head to the Brewery for a few pre-game bevy's. I will keep an eye out for Soph's VESPREMI ACTION FACTION banner !!!
Next you'll be bringing back the old chesnut that the 19th man we had on the ground for 30 secs in Round (6) cost you two premiership points and 4th position ???
I am flying up on Saturday early arvo (Hit & Run mission) and have seat tickets on Level One in section 130 near the middle of the ground. Do any of you know if there is a Swans Members pre-match or after match function ???
Flying back to Melb. Sunday A.M. (Fathers Day !!!)
I would like to...
Re: Mathews retires
Well Done Benny, you are a credit to yourself in what you have been able to achieve in 198 games for the Sydney Swans Football Club.
Thank-you for many great memories, and special thanks for the part you played along with (21) of your blood brothers as being responsible...
Hi Ray,
Yes, tragically it is a photograph of of the only stand still remaining at the Lakeside Oval, the South Melbourne Cricket Club Members stand. It is now known as Bob Jane Stadium and South Melbourne Hellas (soccer club) use the ground as their home ground.
I have many fond boyhood...
Hopefully the only tunnelling that will be going on after Saturday night's game will be after Laidley has blown a gasket and he and the Kangaroos will be tunnelling out of ANZ stadium to save themselves from further embarrassment !!!
Laidley has thrown the tunnelling mud this week as a piece...
...He tipped the Freo upset! What a legend.
Luffy also mentioned that MOL would be missing owing to a hamstring ???
I was under the impression that MOL was out due to an ankle ligament strain from the Carlton game ??
Hopefully just a freudain slip by the Luffmeister !!!
