The main key players delisted that could be of interest to us at the moment are- Cain Ackland, Steven Armstrong, Luke Jehricho, Kris Massie, Wayde Mills, Peter Street, Jeff White and Adam Yze.
Any Thoughts or are they just other teams trash!

I would be interested in Jehricho. Adelaide supporters say that he is a soft football player and doesn't go hard enough. After the few games that i have seen him play i think he has the skills to be an AFL player.

With the culture at our club and our strong tackling game (plus the delisting may give jehricho a kick up the arse) he might harden the **** up.

im not an expert on young talent, ie weather it is better to pick a youngster in the draft but i think he would be worth a shot.

As with the others i think that they are not worth picking up. I think Armstrong and Massie are good enough to still play AFL but with there age i think they would just be list cloggers. it would be better getting games into our youngsters.

I've been keen on Mills since I was aware the Lions were going to cut him, I think he's definitely worth a punt.
Jericho, possibly.

If anyone is seriously suggesting we sniff around Ackland, possibly one of the most maligned players in the league and a flop at, what, three clubs now (Saints, Carlton and Port) ... well, what we do NOT need is another player for the position of "scapegoat". We have enough of them and they're all better than Ackland.

Massie isa good defender but he has a bit of an injury history, doesn't he?

Realistically, we'll be picking up none of those because of the number of players on our list. We'd either be replacing a youngster e.g. Laidlaw, Thornton, Brabazon or one of the older players e.g. Crouch, Fosdike and I don't see any real reason to do either.

Jericho - No chance, if he can't break into the Crows non-existant forward line, then he definitely must be rubbish.
Mills - A tall with ordinary kicking skills, I think we have enough frustration on our list thanks.
Massie - Yes please, another HB flanker, god knows we don't have enough of them.
Armstrong - surprise delisting, thought he went okay with the Eagles this year. But, he's nothing more than an honest midfielder turned forward.
White, Ackland - would get in the way of Currie and Orreal.
Yze - way past his best.

I doubt we'd pick up a recycled player.

Since Roos took over, the only recycled player we've selected (excluding Heath James & Buchanan) is Spriggs (pick 47, 2004).

Each year we've topped up our list, before the draft.

I agree with PB that I wouldn't mind us thinking about Mills (he is rookie list eligible).
I saw him a couple of times in defence for Brisbane and he looked to have good closing speed & agility. But his kicking is an issue. It also seems that this year Brisbane wanted to play him anywhere but defence.

IMO the surprising delisting from Brisbane was Mathew Moody. It seems a couple of their guys in Moody & Sherman who looked very promising in 2006 have gone backwards the last 2 years. Although I believe Moody had OP.

Yep we should be all over Davenport... he won their VFL b&f

Winning awards in the lower-level competition can be a sign that the player was firmly cemented there, never travelling with the firsts (even as an emergency). Spriggs won the Mulrooney Medal before we delisted him!

Do you think anybody would be interested in Egan??
Plenty of ability just needs to get his head right.

After looking at that lot I'd prefer us to re-draft Davis.

Have we got any interest in the new Port delistings- Damon White, Nathan Lonie, Fabian Deluca, Greg Bentley, Ryan Williams and Adam Cockshell
I was thinking possibly white, lonie and deluca

I saw Nathan Lonie has been shown the door by Port.He may be a good pick up for us with his long raking ACCURATE kicks into the forward line.He would probably come in the PSD and wouldn't cost much.

Lonie???
You people have got to be kidding.

The Lonie brothers are among the most maligned players on BF, and for good reason.
Both can kick, but that's about it.
They've had enough chances and are going nowhere. Nathan is not good enough for Port's best 22, geez, even Port's best 25-30, so why would we bother?

I would much prefer looking at Chris Egan, who's young and has more talent in his a.se than the Lonies combined. Yes, his attitude would need to be changed, but at least he can play.

But generally speaking, go for good players if they're up for drafting, not hacks being recycled (again). Those blokes on Port's list aren't a Craig Bolton or Ted Richards.

Gee White's star has dropped.

IIRC it was only 2 years ago that Port knocked back a first round pick from Adelaide for him.

Hawthorn's delistings;
Danny Jacobs - retired

Delisted
Luke McEntee
Zac Dawson
Tim Clarke
Garry Moss

Notable that Port (Deluca) and Hawthorn (McEntee) delisted young ruckmen.

It is an area we are very shallow in.
If Jolly goes down we are in trouble.
Currie and Orreal may be promising, but neither has played at AFL level.

I saw McEntee at U18 level and he was a raw boned Darren Jolly type player. May be worth a thought.

I'd be stoked actually if we picked up Damon White, I've got a feeling we actually will if he gets down to us in the PSD.

Voss appears to have moved Copeland on from Brisbane who had shown previous interest in possibly joining the Swans. Is he worth a punt for a late draft pick or is he too similar to our apparent over supply of running HB's currently have on our list ???

Not what we need (ie. pacy outside midfielder or KPP) so at 27, I'd be very surprised if we took an interest.

Fabian Deluca Retired mid season.
You're thinking of the other young Port ruckman, Hugh Minson. Deluca was getting games undeservedly ahead of Lade mid-season.

I think Brisbanes discards and de-listings seem to get a little overrated for some reason. Probably because of a lack of exposure to the other states.

We don't need a Copeland. We already have plenty of his type. I'm pretty sure we were keen on Notting and not on Copleland from memory. The Tigers offered Copeland a three-year deal a few years back.
