Very true. Not saying bad pick. I just dont think he is a true key forward that will be able to run around the forward line like the quality key forwards do. Ruck/deep forward then :thumbsu:
Very slow for a key forward. 3.17 for 20m. More suited to ruck with abit of forward time in athletic terms - would be run off too easily at ground level. Tippett for example is much more athletic.
Never mind Darling, take a close look at McInness and Newman who they drafted last year. Both missed considerable chunks of the year, both took longer to recover from injuries than expected. Not saying WC hid them but very convenient and no doubt those were the 2 WC wanted at those picks...
My workplace is having 3. An 'official/formal' party, social club party and one for the younger employees who like to get boozey. The last will be the best and that is this Friday.
Quite a large workplace, given what has happened in the past, anything could happen. Girls in particular let go...
Neither Newman or McInness did testing at draft camp due to injury. Might have made them fall abit further than they would have.
For what its worth, Newman weighed 70.4kgs at DC, abit better than the 67kgs that has been floated.
Barlow trained with Essendon before PSD. Essendon had the pick before Freo in the PSD. I think its accepted that if Ess didnt go Hardingham, they would have gone Barlow.
Freo must have been pretty damn confident that a Melb based club wouldnt draft him, where you got that confidence nobody...
Very true. Except for last years draft, I know West Coast has been very upset at players they wanted going before their selections. Callan Ward at 19 before Tony Notte was one. They were desperate for Nat Fyfe to fall 2 more picks (although knew Freo were a massive chance to get there before...
Nason isnt horrible, he's really quick and quite a good kick (although at times erratic, was considered one of his strengths when Tigers drafted him). The main issue is his size.
I think you have your wires crossed. If Ebert is out of contract, he can chose not to be traded to certain clubs. His contract with West Coast has expired, they have no power to say where he goes next. Its the nature of contracts, once they expire, both parties can do what they like.
Yeh, there was Steve who was the footy manager at one stage but he became unwell and took a smaller role. I think he might have left altogether now.
As I said, I'm pretty sure I heard that someone has been promoted within to be the new national recruiting manager and is based in Melb. We will...
I am 99% sure Woodhouse doesnt have a position of responsibility at all now. There is someone in Vic that heads up the clubs national recruiting role and Woodhouse covers WA kids.
I think there is more chance that Brad is having a sneaky think about the Crows. There were reports that Crows could 're-consider their position' regarding Ebert now they completed their other trades. As the trade deadline approaches I suspect the idea of going to the Crows will look much more...
I didnt say it was the same circumstances, its just funny that the same points were put forward as to why you should get good compo for Palmer. Now you think it doesnt matter.
Re: Mitch Clark - The sequal
I find it highly ironic that Freo fans are criticising Lions fans for saying he was a first round pick and has had one good year when those were the exact reasons why they thought Palmer had value.
Admittedly, those were indicators outlined by the AFL but that...
Re: Scott Lycett to Brisbane?
Never going to happen. Not only would WC not deal him, he's a first year player and from South Australia. As I said, never going to happen.
Maybe the AFL should invent a Family-club rule, so clubs dont waste their time drafting kids who never intend on staying at the club that drafted them. Save everyone a load of time.
I wasnt talking about the respective sides footy ability (although I could), I meant in terms of facilities, coaching staff, supporter base and the ability of the club to open doors. He's left plush facilities, playing in front of 40,000+ ppl every week and under some of the best coaches money...
They stuck with him and then he chose to leave. I dont know how much longer you think they could have stuck with him. He played pretty damn poorly and now done the exact thing everyone thought he would. I guess some people thought he would have the fortitude to be his own man and not do the...
I actually felt guilty when I saw 6 posts in 3 min questioning what I said, I know how annoying it is when people do what I am. I dont want to be a knob about it. Will stop now. I actually hope I am wrong.
