Your making the assumption that my email address is "out there" on the net. I have half a clue and many different email accounts to use for various sign ups etc.
The email address I received this email on is not "out there" on the net, besides being an email tied to this site.

Yes you can use your feet to test the surface. Therefore you don't need your club to do it, there is also a decent distance from your feet to clubhead and many things in regards to surface can change. I don't agree it is penalty enough being in a hazard, the penalty is being unable to ground...
The rule is there so you cannot test the surface ie Depth / Consistency of sand / mud etc. It makes complete sense.

Great decision from the club. As has been said numerous times, the club is greater than any individual.
By the sounds of it he has been undermining the club over a fair period of time and that is unacceptable. It is a huge pity, but the correct decision has been made.
We lost due to decision making, plain and simple.
