Completely hosing down, 40k - 45k at most tonight. Should still be enough to hand Richmond the highest overall attendance for the year.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Yep, I think theyre also off the mark tonight too with there prediction. Cold, wet night I think the crowd will be closer to 50k or less rather than 60k. Imo there will be abit less of tigers fans as last week given the weather at night and how easy they're expected to win and essendon...

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Given Geelong were still in it up to there neck for a finals spot its abit light on. Lowest crowd between the 2 teams in 15 years.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Different because of the Fitzroy link, and Brisbane were still in contention for finals because of Essendon* Best like for like comparison would be Richmond v Gold Coast last week ie bottom 4 interstate side with no away fans.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Best weather since May today I reckon absolute perfect, could be 60k+. Tigers fans will be up for this and pies fans have been quietly confident all week of an upset. Wish we were out there today in 100 times better circumstances playing against the Tigers at the G in the sun :(

What was the crowd? Looked like 25k but it's not listed on the afl website

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

38k today for Richmond v Gold Coast, great crowd. They've really consolidated a 35k core this year for home games no matter what interstate side they've played.

The Bulldogs crowd is abit disappointing, that form they're in atm where there is no expectation from fans just genuine excitement is when you can draw your biggest crowds.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Carl v North crowd - 25,251 I honestly think Ess v Wb will draw an equally poor crowd tomorrow. Last weeks crowd was embarassing for Essendon and there ain't going to be more Ess fans turning up tomorrow coming off a loss. Dogs fans dont usually turn up when it's our home game either.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

We dont need another compromise in Round 1, the season opener is enough for me. The rest should be a lottery every year so we get games like Beams v his old club or a grand final replay etc to look forward to in the opening round. I do agree though all Collingwood HOME games v vic clubs should...

40k for the dogs v pies today, pretty good crowd. Probably the dogs biggest home crowd since 2010?

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Ease up I know your excited but Collingwood drew home crowd of 26k at the G the last time they were down the bottom in 2005. You aren't much better when the season is gone.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Ordinary crowd, think it's just the start unfortunately. Our attendances held up for so long after 10 years of mediocrity but now I think we might start to head into carlton territory that people like I and others have had a go about them about. Can't bag them anymore, were not much different.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

I think 50k is overs to be expecting against Fremantle for any Melbourne club for this game. Certainly wouldn't expect that crowd from Essendon unless we transported back to the 90's. Against West Coast yes, as for big games they can bring thousands down but not Freo from what Ive seen...

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

carltons home attendances are a yoyo, in the space of 3 months theyve drawn 16k against GWS, 30k against GC then 26k against the Hawks who looked like they had nearly half the crowd. Most Vic clubs would struggle to get 30k against GC at there peak and Carlton drew it at the bottom of the...

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Nah it looked about right to me, half full is what it looked and 26k is that. Well except the last quarter where you could have counted on your hand how many people were there.
  19. dave_27

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

You've got it the opposite way round I reckon. Hawks fans will turn up in big numbers despite maybe expecting to win easily because it's a home game. Tigers fans won't care though it's an away game and will turn up as its there first top 4 blockbuster game at the G since I dunno 2001??

Collingwood v West Coast Official crowd: 36,527 at Etihad Stadium Not the best, was a pretty big game too for top 4.
  22. dave_27

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

No team out of finals contention playing an away game against North Melbourne last night at Etihad would draw 40k or probably even 35k. Last week North hosted Geelong in a big 8 pointer and it drew the same crowd 32k as last night.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Thats pretty much spot on for Esendon I reckon, Im not expecting more to any of those games atm. Actually last round v Collingwood or last home game v Richmond could possibly be the last game of Fletcher so they could end up massive.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Honestly despite all of Hawthorns milestones in regards to attendances and members since 2008 I have never truly believed they were really challenging Collingwood, Richmond etc in regards to off field but attending the Essendon v Hawthorn game a few weeks ago really made me take notice of how...
  25. dave_27

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Richmond v Hawthorn will be ALOT bigger than that. The way it's tracking atm it's a minimum of 60k, the last time they played each other in this position and a hawks home game was 2013 on a wet Sat arvo and it drew 64k.
  26. dave_27

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

In the same circumstances as Essendon? Probably not. The last time Collingwood played a home game out of finals contention was last year v Hawthorn and the crowd didnt even reach 50k on a Friday night and it being a members replacement game for hawks members. The last time Collingwood played...

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Carlton v GC atm looks double the crowd of Carlton v GWS 6 weeks ago! Astonishing difference, amazing what a change of coach and a win can do for fan morale.

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Because talk of the AFL taking over Etihad stadium opens possible significant opportunities for all Etihad tenants. Essendon supporters want more MCG home games, thats why we're discussing it.
  29. dave_27

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Your rant at this point is unwarranted. No one on here knows what if at all Essendon wants to change to its tenancy agreement, what contracts are in place or what contracts are actually still valid if the AFL takes over Etihad.
  30. dave_27

    The 2015 Attendance Thread

Main issue for Essendon going forward is what they value more, maximising attendances, ease of attending or bleeding there current members dry with reserved seats. What happened against Brisbane a few weeks ago where in a crowd of 36k, a quarter of the crowd weren't in til quarter time is...
