Agreed. I think he was named our best when we played them early last year and seem to remember he dominated them in a game in 2016 - probably the best I've ever seen him play that day. I'll back big Levi in!
Walked around the eastern side of the ground during the 3rd quarter - bunch of the Hawks development boys (I'm guessing) were having a good laugh at MMurphy sitting in his Hyundai keeping out of the rain - would have loved if Murph had of jumped out of the car and given them a mouthful. Wishful...
I went along & noticed a few of the younger players supporting the Northern Blues. Just out of interest were any of our more senior Carlton players there in support? Would have thought after such a poor loss Friday night there may have been a few there but didn't notice anyone.
When Carlton were being canned mid year for "lacking depth" by the media and so called 'experts' it really dawned on me how little research or knowledge the fans are presented with by the media. It was barely acknowledged that it was exactly those depth players & recently drafted kpp (ie...
To suggest he's mentally weak is ridiculous - legend of the game and stands up when it counts, more likely later in his career to set the tone early in games as he done in both Swans finals this year - perhaps fatigues later in games as he's grown older, particularly the 45-50m set shots.
That...
Certainly club comes first, in the hope of success & bragging rights, but I support a healthy national competition and as an AFL member since the 80's I attend many 'neutral' games during the season including as many Melbourne finals as possible, including the GF. September is great for an AFL...
In answer to the post I happended to notice several days ago that the AFL website countdown clock was counting down to a 3:20pm start. Latest check has it counting down to a 2:30pm start. Might be the cause for some confusion.
Just confirms the AFL administrators have lost the plot - 2008 MOTY and GOTY announced in 2009.
What next, 4 boundary umpires in Round 4, 2009...oh, hang on!
As a Carlton supporter I can quite confidently say that the last 7 years of 0 Premierships & 3 Wooden Spoons is below par!
Non Carlton supporters may disagree. You'd have preferred us to have more spoons!
Looking at the last nine AFL Seasons (since 2000) and it shows the Home & Away team;
1st place = 4 premierships (0.444)
2nd = 3 premierships (0.333)
3rd = 2 premierships (0.222)
Brisbane's 3 consecutive premierships is indeed extraordinary as they never finished H&A in 1st place, not to...
Re: Norm Smith/Final Score!
Cats - 16.11 (107)
Hawks - 11.17 (83)
Hawks get better of opening quarter despite wayward kicking (Buddy & Roughead), Rioli on fire with 2 goals. Wojcinski (late inclusion for Chapman) comes onto Rioli 2nd quarter and quells his influence & also provides extra dash...
Came across this "Ode to Waverley" on the web for those interested.

Love it or hate it, IMO Waverley offered a far better "footy experience" than say the Dome, which is a bit like watching footy on the TV in your loungeroom (albeit a...
I'm not sure whether the game is better now than it was in the 80's but it certainly has changed, and is IMO very much now less "about the fans."
One simple solution (Mark Robinson from Herald Sun recently highlighted this during a live chat). Get the FANS back on the ground after the game to...
As has been said Waverley always seemed wet, cold & windy...but I loved it! Responsible for some of my best footy memories...particularly a double header on Finals saturday - Waverley day game then brisk drive down the freeway to the MCG night game - that's if you ever got out of the Waverley...
