Problem with promotion is then if your lucky to win a flag, most teams finish bottom at next level. Playing in RDFL you can put 3 year plan in place. Imagine you win Premiership in EDFL & your playing in Premier League, you need $250k to be competitive.
No I don't believe your post is negative at all, you are spot on with most of your comments. We don't know what the future holds in this new COVID world in which we live BUT I was feeling depressed with all the COVID shit, so thought I would get back into footy which has helped balance my world...
Broardford have come & gone a few times which hasn't helped their cause. They need stability. The RDFL is a good fit for them. They need strong Governance to make the correct decisions once & for all. There has been some good people there in the past, don't know if they are still there.. Wallan...
Rupo & Diggers are going no where, Wallan had a meeting about it & decided to stay. Until someone from Macedon comes on here to say they are going under, I will take it like everything else on here, a load of Bulls**t. Fair dinkum talk about Nostradamus!
Geelong did on Friday night (Thank you Chris Scott!) against the best ruckman in the business. That was smart!! I have always said that he walked into a and handed Premiership side by Bomber Thompson. Now the interesting question will be, will he play a ruckman this week against Nic Nat? Derrrr.
Great w
Great win by Wallan yesterday, I thought Diggers lost the plot yesterday & fell for the old three card trick. A much younger Wallan showed more maturity & discipline than the older more experienced opponent. No matter what happens next week, it has been a mighty effort by the team...
In 2007 Lalor won the Premiership in the Northern League with 12 players eligible to play under 19's, its not a case of can or cant be done, it has been done! Darley are right in the mix, young blokes can run all day! they have a good mix of youth & experience with an exceptional coach.
When a player is returning from injury, you must manage his time on the ground & ease him back in. He has been manages perfectly & slowly through the reserves.
Garfield you will need to form a committee with a representative from every club, you will then need to have a meeting between the clubs reps & have an agenda in place, with one spokesperson, before you meet with Goldfields. Put your case forward wanting clarity on the future of the RDFL. Surely...
A very good standard of footy before the rain came, both sides showing they will be a force come finals. The Bombers had a few out & the Sharks have a few under done coming back from injuries. Looks like a exciting finals series.
You need plenty of $$$ to play finals in the BFL, or have a very good junior program, South has neither. South are also in an industrial area compared to Centrals who are in a growth area. Their are some good people at South, you only need one idiot to bring the culture down, so I don't believe...
Agree with you on the Kilmore topic. I believe if they ever win a flag in the Northern League, they will struggle to compete once promoted. They would be a good fit back in the RDFL, however the Kilmore people would probably disagree. Melton South believe they are above the RDFL.
Some good work there Smokey & worth exploring. I will correct you as sometimes they do come back, Wallan did this in 2008 after being belted in the Northern League, made finals in 2009. Great decision by the Wallan board at the time & look at them now. I don't believe Romsey are going that bad...
If Romsey & Lancefield were rostered to play more games at home at the start & mid season, play last three games away, both grounds would have time to recover & be in perfect condition for finals.
