On the 19’s I heard during the week that the 19’s finals will be a top 6, never heard so much rot in my life.surely a 7 team comp can’t have a top 6.
It was always to be a 6 in line with seniors and reserves. When some clubs did not field teams and there ended up only 7 teams taking the field, there was no agreement to change finals structure. You can’t change it a couple of weeks out.
If you look at the whole fixture it’s been awful with some clubs playing each other 4 times and others only once.

Disagree, of course you can change it. Don't play 19's in the first week of the finals, a final 6 in an 11 team comp is embarrassing, in a 7 team comp where 6th has won 3 or 4 games. well........

Do Goldfields really care? We get bugger all media and we lost radio, when Yeendy was moved on. So no media...no profile, no one reporting the facts.....it’s great we are all talking now and some fantastic ideas comming through. But let’s not kid ourselves....Big Brother will fire back and make accusations against us and say all is good but we know the truth. We are gaining momentum....went to 2 games today and all people were talking about is what we r pushing on line. The RDNFL board has to stand up and listen now.
So what now....our next step is to stand up and force a meeting of clubs and interested parties. We need the umpires to get on board and help, we need media to go public.
As a collective we need to say we have no confidence in the board of the league and force a spill. Demand that the people we employ ( Goldfields ) start putting together this new league. Inform the clubs not involved that it’s time to find another league. Inform the clubs that a deadline for becoming financial with league has been set and will be enforced. If clubs can’t pay some players then so be it...our leagues future is more important.
Be interesting to know if anyone saw any league officials at any games today, if they were did they have the courage to debate the facts or did they just run to the 1/2 time luncheons as usual.
Keep up the good work everyone ...great to see those who care putting there hands up and fighting
Well said mate perhaps it might take a few of us on here to get together and get the ball rolling. RDFL was a great comp and could still be perhaps drawing up a model and getting it to the clubs for feed back and a possible meeting might get this going. One issue i believe stopping this is the clubs not having time to put something together therefore it’s the old saying it’s all hot air. Well perhaps we all put our differences aside and get the ball rolling. THOUGHTS ANY ONE..........

The appalling way the under 19 draw was worked demands there is a top six. One side got to play the side that finished bottom four times while other sides only played them once. If you had a ladder without the games against the bottom sides it would be very different.
Yeah well that’s just crap then,I wasn’t aware the fixture was that effed but yeah have the 6, I think BC4 is correct it’s a great year to take 3rd spot and play the second last team to inherit the double chance.

Decent day down at the Tank yesterday for the 2009 reunion of the 1’s beating Fitzroy. 7 wins in footy n netty v Riddell. I’m guessing the Sharks may be doing some goalkicking praccy over the next couple of weeks.

Pretty comprehensive win mate. On a roll at the right time of the year.

Going ok, 1st half a bit of a struggle, kicked 1.9 in the third but came home strong, pleading to get Billy Canollo back on the park and also get the wins.

Bye and Rockbank to go. Should freshen up nicely for a tilt at the flag.

Funny you mention this.
I actually completely forgot that AFL Goldfields have a dedicated site with filmed matches and weekly highlights of its associated leagues.

Yet if you follow the leagues on social media you wouldn’t know about it.

Other neighbouring leagues post match highlights on Sundays and Monday and it’s a great way to showcase the skills on set to those that aren’t accessible to the games.

Great round approaching. Amazingly the way the results have fallen if I am reading it right Romsey and Wallan both have opportunities to lock away top 3 spots this weekend? Both at home as well.

Can’t help but feel there may be a few willing candidates for the upcoming RDFL AGM, now you just need your respective clubs to go about it the right way in terms of nomination process.

Could this mean, finally change is coming, and driven by passionate folk on the front line?

Good stuff guys :thumbsu:

With respect Big Fella, not many of us on here connected to clubs in the RDFL. Goldfields would not take any notice in what is written on this forum.

I, for one have a great connection with the RDFNL and really hope that there at least 5 people with the same passion to see our great league survive and prosper. Since the inception of Goldfields there has not been many positive things to say. I really like the discussions on what teams we should have and support the idea of 10 teams all with the relevant age groups wholeheartedly. I think Melton South in and Broadford to go back to their origins would work for everybody. I support Lancefield staying because of their history and doing the right things the last couple of season by competing in all age groups, however if they decide to move on for their survival either Kyneton or Ballan work.
Keep up the good work.

Terrific win by Rupo. Give them credit I thought Riddell would bully them out of the season, I know finals is a different battle field but 2 home and away wins will give them confidence. Only watched the first half, thought Rupo were in trouble when swallow went off early, to their credit they controlled the game pretty well up until half time and some of their younger players looked pretty good. What happened with the poor kicking? Like slyone said, both teams with injuries to important players or players a bit underdone, atleast the result has kept the ladder positions for the top 6 alive. Anyone else hearing the stories at grounds over the weekend that Melton South, Kyneton and 1 other are potential ins for the 2020 season? Goldfields in deep conversation with all of them OR just another rumor?

Garfield you will need to form a committee with a representative from every club, you will then need to have a meeting between the clubs reps & have an agenda in place, with one spokesperson, before you meet with Goldfields. Put your case forward wanting clarity on the future of the RDFL. Surely they will have to come to the table & give you their strategy plan moving forward.

I 100% understand that mate, but there does seem to be 2-3 who have appeared this past week or so who (hopefully) can get involved and make a difference.

Let's not forget the circumstances that saw an administrator as such take over the RDFL.
Failure by the board (some still sitting in seats now) to deal with some ordinary actions back in about 2009 saw the right for the league to govern alone, basically taken away by AFL Vic.
Similar reason the once Diamond Valley is now the Northern FL, so the hub thing probably can't change, but what clubs deserve or want certainly can, if said clubs "choose" to seek.
Up until now fair to assume minor niggles with Goldfields haven't been deemed serious enough by the club representatives at league meetings to push.

I kinda like the CHFL model in terms of their administration, not a lot of Goldfields involvement apparently. I have attended games involving 6 different clubs over there this year and they do appear happy with the day to day operations, albeit the comp itself needs some work given the number of clubs and the gap in standard from top to bottom.

Seems everyone is awaiting AFL Vic to declare their hand on what the actual plan statewide is.

Geographically you are correct. There are other factors involved.
On a different subject.
The buzz around broadford is that fees in the Kyabram league are significantly cheaper than the fees in rdfnl/goldfields.
Speaking to a few people up there and they talking over $20,000 differences.

My only worry with Broadford and the KDL option is that I cannot see teams like Dookie United (140km one way), Tallygaroopna (125km) and Undera (119km) voting them in, but if there are north and south divisions next year then they would have a better chance of admission.
