So here we are 2 days from knowing who plays off for the goodall cup. Been a cracker of a year all round. Its pretty safe to say now the best net will win.
The ice beaten last nite by the upcoming mustangs. Ice players bitching at each other after okane scored the third goal. Not good. Ice discipline got them in trouble all nite. Webster and ary both hit the post. Phillips exposed. Not even in the same class as olthuis. These kids have improved so...
Apparently mitch humphries is leaving melbourne ice next week to head back overseas. Followed shortly after by todd graham. Ice beginning to thin out in depth. Hopefully this along with the departure of the hughes brothers doesnt hamper the 4peat chances this year. Heard some good reports about...
Thats a good point my opinion. This league this year is anything can happen. Joey will and wont be missed. Shame. He is some talent. I hear also sturrock and meyer asked to step down also. But agreed. Big win by the ice. Looking forward to see what the bears present in melbourne.
Both hughes brothers have walked out on the ice. Some serious dramas going on in the ice organisation this week. Heard also perth have lost two imports. ( disgruntled). Canberra only have one import left . Olthiuos has found his form. Interesting season so far
Kimlin was outstanding this weekend. Phillips also. Then carson. A real goalie highlight weekend. Agree the reffing on sunday was atrocious. I did ask one of the mustang players why olthious wasnt playing. Apparently the coach wanted to get a game into carson and virjassov earlier in the season...
Ice dogs lose a game they should have won against a mustangs outfit trying to crack the aussie net of kimlin. However. Lets take nothing away from the mustangs. They kept plugging awayand trying to crack kimlin. Within ten mins of the game the stangs burried three past kimlin. The resulting...
Well. Here we are. One more sleep till season begins. So excited and i will be attending the local derby sat nite. I believe it will be a close contest and the hockey wont dissapoint. Very keen to see the stangs up against the bigger melbourne ice. Wishing both teams do well this year.
One of those imports that didnt play this season is here. I was at the game last nite. Pat okane. He is small but solid. Has great wheels. Soft hands. Great passer and quick. He can play. He was on a line with sean jones and andy belic. They have some chemistry. The newlocal guys voller and...
Cant wait for this season to begin. Hearing good things about mustangs. Sadly tho they have lost some experienced players but seriously those players didnt bury the puck much last season. Players not returning. Bourke. Anderson. Hardy. Bergamin.robertson and carpenter to name a few. New coach...
Recent press release from mustangs organization stating they have secured a new head coach. Brad vigon who was an assistant with the Melbourne ice over the past three seasons. A new assistant coach also. Hoping the stangs have a much better year in 2013. No word on the Melbourne ice coaching...
Lets put this out there. We lost round one by 44 points. The tiges havent lost by more than 22 points since. Along the way we beat hawthorn. St. Kilda. Sydney. Then we lost to geelong at geelong by 10 points. West coast by 10 points. Freo by 12 in the wet. Under wallace we struggled to kick a...
Confirmed. Mustangs new coach bill wilkinson has been fired. Team had no confidence in him. Lafs to see out season. Good luck mustangs. Will be a doozy this sat nite at the melbourne derby.
Theres a very good reason why nathan would have chosen the european route instead of the north american one. Its a known fact that european hockey do a lot more trainings than games. They focus completely on skills and lots of touching the puck. Its a fallacy the the CHL would be better for him...
Yes vicad i did hear it was confimed. The demons/ jets won the premiership last season in the premier A. I caught a few games and they came out of nowhere during the finals. They had a new coach who sorta came out of nowhere mid way thru the season also. From what i have heard the jets/demons...
Word on the vine is that the mustangs assisstant coach ( laforet) is to coach the JETS premier A team this season. It is true that the jets and Demons have parted at the Premier A level and the Jets can stand alone.
hey fellas. just throwing this thread out there. im interested to see if anyone here attends premier A games in IHV. the standard is pretty good as its practically played by the majority of players from both melbourne ice and mustangs teams bar the more senior and import players. some changes i...
wish scott all the best back home in canada, sad to have him leave melbourne. but troy hangin up his skates? is that just from the stangs or both prem A and AIHLA?
I like your style pickman. But i cant see perth doing better than the stangs did last year. I honestly believe there is so much talent on the stangs roster. But stranger things have happened. Good luck buddy
Re: Aihl 2012
its good to see lafs back after his layoff. he done an extraordinary amount of work with the stangs and i hope he can suit in well with the assistants role. it does seem strange he will be in that position. i hear there looking to bring an international coach over.lets hope that...
Canada. Coz they are nuts about hockey. Its like if you lived in canada and watched aussie rules and we competed in our game at international level and knowing how fanatical we are about footy then it would be logical to follow the country who owns the game.
the kid can def play. he was my stand out player in the senior mens aussie team here last year. his work rate set him apart from the rest of the team. good luck to him in the draft. i think tho its a big hill for him to climb but its not impossible.
hey guys. here we go again. a new year and a new season to look forward too. i have heard whispers the mustangs have released coach stevenson after last season. then they go and rehire laforette again but as an assistant coach. seems a strange call that one (no doubt about his ability to coach...
